• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

thank you, your always helpful
hi guys
I hate to be a pest.....

I looked everything over in my workshop today... the spring doesn't go to any of my projects?.... I keep my workbench and workplace very clean....
it's a brand new spring??? I opened the NMO34 package and only saw a broken o-ring a base ring and an allen wrench and of course the NMO34...... I screwed the 64" antenna onto the NMO 34 and holding the antenna I set the NMO34/whip onto the floor.... later I looked down and there was the spring next to the NMO34... so I thought it fell out from under the NMO34...... if Mmckenna say's it doesn't go under the NMO34 then I know it doesn't..

I was putting together a propane torch for burning my weeds, when the package came from the Antenna farm.... I had a NMO rain cap a NMO mounting kit the 64"whip and the NMO34 base ..... I pulled it all out of the box and opened everything when I got it, to look it all over

I've looked at the parts list for the torch... no spring anyplace..... so this is just WEIRD!!!!!!

so seeing I got a bunch of CB stuff in the box... anyone recognize that spring from something?

No idea. But I'm sure it's not from the coil. Even inside, there's no spring. I had a spare NMO27 coil a few years ago and cut it open for fun, yep, no spring:

The install that started this thread in April 2024? And I thought I was slow.
believe me I'd love to get it done.... it's actually installed ... I have a 6 foot antenna on the tail light working ( not very good, but working best it ever will work ) we exhausted every trick in the book for that. drilling a massive hole for a 5/8 bolt finally dropped the SWR down to 2.0

we then put a Stryker SR-A10 on the passenger hood corner working fantastic..... 14.90 miles....

I just want to make a range test video of the tail light antenna's and the Stryker SR-A10 then we can try the NMO 34 and see how that works... I have a bunch of wires under the seat I need to clean up ..... so were just about there.

I had no idea how much stage 3 /4 lymphoma cancer was going to knock him down... that chemo is some nasty stuff.
he drives the 45 minutes from his house to my house when he feels good... those time seem to be less and less ..... by the time he gets here he needs to take a nap.
he said he has it beat now and may be cancer free? ( until the next test ) so that's why I think we'll finish it very soon. now that he is feeling better he has a years worth of work to catch up on around his house.. the CB takes a back burner
