Ah okay yea, displaying the WACN and the sys id or something alternating display message interesting, so it displays the wacn and 015. as N4DES said and I was thinking, roaming or something linking. I've encountered that before where the sys id & wacn displayed on received transmision.Yes, it is coming from a nearby TRS. The "SYS" is displaying the system's WACN, followed by "-015" - still don't know what this indicates. It seems that it is only displaying when dispatch transmits, NOT when other units are Txing.
Must have something to do with the wonkiness of scanning a Harris system with a Motorola. Thank you for the help.. going to desperately look for a change in radio LOL.Still interested in your issue of the non-scan list talkgroup coming thru on top of everything else
It certainly does not have the same quality RF filters, intermod rejection, sensitivity, audio quality, physical build quality, or battery capacity/capabilities (i.e. battery smart chip) as a APX or Harris XG radio. And setting up NAS is absolutely trivial if you know what you doing. What's wrong with a Uniden SDS100? Pro-tip: you'll never have to worry about committing a felony or two because it won't ever generate RF or affiliation requests. It's also easy to program: just enter a zip code.
What does your sister use?Must have something to do with the wonkiness of scanning a Harris system with a Motorola. Thank you for the help.. going to desperately look for a change in radio LOL.
Except no one ever got in hot water for programming a scanner, nor does it require using gray area system keys not authorized by a system owner. I get it, everyone wants a "superior" cop radio- but an SDS, Unication or Blue Tail require ZERO gray area/questionable software, don't have transmitters, and are comparatively EASY (especially for a novice) to deploy. Bonus: one doesn't get negative attention for potential piracy. It certainly does not have the same quality RF filters, intermod rejection, sensitivity, audio quality, physical build quality, or battery capacity/capabilities (i.e. battery smart chip) as a APX or Harris XG radio. My Motorola subscribers work just fine on Harris systems. What radio ID are you using and on what system ID ?Must have something to do with the wonkiness of scanning a Harris system with a Motorola. Thank you for the help.. going to desperately look for a change in radio LOL.
I suspect it has to do with the wonkiness of something else besides the radio.Must have something to do with the wonkiness of scanning a Harris system with a Motorola.
No.I suspect it has to do with the wonkiness of something else besides the radio.![]()
As I already stated put Txin in your menu and use it. The radio will send no voice or data. That will take care of the Harris system problem. But of course you must make sure your NAS was done correctly in the first place. Plenty of guys out there that can do it the right way.
It has always been in the menu and it is always on. I never turn it off.As I already stated put Txin in your menu and use it. The radio will send no voice or data. No.Then somebody programmed your radio incorrectly plain and simple.
Ummm yes 100% without a doubt
If you indeed have TX INhibit enabled then there will be no transmissions from the radio, then the items on the display when receiving will be some sort of function of receiving that system and the programming. If its a Harris system uncheck Moto Prop Features, I don't care if someone says it doesn't matter, uncheck that if you're not on a Moto system. The firmware version is R29. Tx is inhibited THRU THE MENU, like you said. Upon clicking PTT, it virtually displays “Tx inhibited“ where the UID should be. It is a SmartZone system and Motorola Prop Features IS checked.
This is also what I was thinking, which is why I am a little confused. I haven’t heard any transmissions since.
If your radio is programmed correctly, this thread is a waste of time. It seems to me that you know better than the experts trying to help you. Unless, that is, you’re willing to post your codeplug for the experts to look at.
