I just noticed in the above attachment that both system sites are listed under each favorites list. However, the browser doesn't indicate this...unless I'm not understanding the software. See attached screenshot.

OK, I figured it out. So each favorites list has to be saved to its own HPD file?

That's what I've been doing. Whether it's the correct way or not, I'm not sure, but it seems to work.

Gommert may have to chime in on this: Say you read a Favorites List from the scanner into the browser, then read a second Favorites List into the browser without closing out the first. When you save the stuff in the browser are you combining the two Favorites List into one?

Quick Key Overview

One thing I've noticed and it may be "just the way it is and it is as good as it gets" is that the quick key overview lists/sorts the contents in the order in which they were programmed to the scanner. If I had my preferences, I'd like to see them listed/sorted based on the Quick Key order.

When you read a new favorite it will overwrite the data loaded in the browser. If do not have that many systems build one fav list with the systems and assign each system a different system qkey.
I will look into sorting the qview data.

All is working well so far but i am unable to delete a system from the left column using a right mouse click. When i press delete nothing takes place.
Also how does one download all the favorites in one shot?

I just downloaded Build 5. I initially had a problem getting Virtual Control to work too.

I then went to the drop down box for the comm port, changed from what I had to another comm port, then back to the correct one. I then hit the start button and it started working.

Thanks for the info but it doesn't work for me. I tried 3 different port changes & it still doesn't work.

I saw where Gommert added a button on the Quick Key Overview to sort the list ordered by Favorites List Quick Key number. Also the Write Data window no longer has the "Enable quick Keys" checkbox checked by default.

Both of these additions are welcomed by me!

I may be mentioning this too often, but when importing an ARC XT file, GPS data is not being imported. Gommert might be holding off on this until he finalizes the product.

Hmm...

I just fired it back up and what I reported earlier happened.

My scanner is on Com Port 5. I left it at 5 clicked Start, nothing happened. I changed the Com Port to 10, clicked Start, nothing happened (didn't expect it to). Then I selected Com Port 5, clicked Start - the Com Port drop down and Start button vanished and the Virtual control started running just fine.

I shut down VC and re-started it. I had to go through that whole process again to get it running. Be sure to click Start after selecting each com port, even the incorrect one(s).

I would imagine Gommert will be taking another look at this. He probably doesn't want it to be that difficult to get VC Running.

I gave deleting a System with a right mouse click a try and it seemed to work okay for me. I'm wondering if a confirmation window would be beneficial, just to prevent mistaken deletion. Of course until someone commits the deletion, either by saving as an HPD file or writing to the scanner, any mistaken deletion can be recovered.

I believe the principle is that you are editing only one Favorites List at a time. So dowloading or opening more than one may cause an unitended consequence - multiple Favorites Lists meged into one. While you can "see" all Favorites Lists in Uniden's Sentinel, you can only edit one at a time. So Arc is consistent with Sentinel in that regard.

That being said, I would like to see a way where a System/Site/Department could be copied from one Favorites List to another Favorites List.

I've got a P25 system I listen to quite a bit. It has Police, Fire and some other things in it. From time to time, all I'm interested in listening to is the fire stuff. While I could turn off the various Department Quick Keys, it seems more efficient just to create a new Favorites List with that system having only the fire stuff. There is less button pressing to do that way.

Port Change

I just downloaded Build 5. I initially had a problem getting Virtual Control to work too.

I then went to the drop down box for the comm port, changed from what I had to another comm port, then back to the correct one. I then hit the start button and it started working.

Updated to Build 5
Original port didn't work.
Changed to another port, hit start, nothing happened, changed back too original port, hit start and all is fine.

Now we are good to go.

Is there a way to build ARC favorite lists from the database in Sentinel or on the scanner? Similar to what you do in Sentinel where you browse the database and append to favorites list.
