On the Virtual Control, there are two drop down boxes just below the Menu button. What are these for? (If possible, I'd suggest a label beside them).

Also perhaps, if there's room, a "ComPort" label beside the drop down box for that.

There are large Up and Down arrows. What do these do?

Lastly, I see a "Debug" checkbox. What happens when a guy checks this?

They set Squelch/Volume. Arrows change scan direction. Debug is for testing only and creates some debug files.

I just downloaded my first Favorites List from the software to my 436 and I receive the Nothing To Scan message. I've checked and the everything seems to be enabled...the quick key, system to monitor, etc. What am I missing?

I think the program is setting everything in my programming to a Number Tag of 0. Is it possible to have it leave all the Number Tags to the default of None?

First, this is not a slam on the software...as I am just getting used to it...

When I load my states P25 system, and try to move things around, I click on a department, and it highlights it. I tell it to copy, then try to paste it into my favorite loaded above, and it pastes a completely different department. This might be due to the limitation of 99??? If that is the case, how to I pick items from a system with more than 99 entries? I found I can look for what I want to copy, and then search for it, and it will only find that system, then I can copy it....but that seems rather odd way of doing it.

I also found out somehow it automatically changed all my favorites to have Location control ON, when I had them all off. Is this a default? If so, how to disable it?

I actually bought the software for the virtual window control, but that isnt working well right now, until Uniden fixes the scanner cutting out of serial mode, so Ill just wait on using the software for a while. Just wondered if the 99 system limit was permanent or temporary.

Also curious if I can use the same program to program favorites for my BCT15, or do I need to purchase another version?

I know that the location control is supposed to be off by default according to the manual, however it seems to be location on by default rather than off by default

Thanks...I just disabled Location Control in the scanner and now all is good. I unchecked Location Control in the software and that didn't fix the problem.

Another problem. I have two favorites list programmed into the scanner. Quick Key 0 is assigned to the first system and Quick Key 1 is assigned to the second system. No matter which single quick key is being pressed...0 or 1, both systems are being scanned. Please advise.

Also, it is very confusing what type of quick key is being assigned in the software. This needs to be clarified much better in the software. This may have to do with my problem above.

A couple of things. I'm finding that it works better pressing two digits for a Favorites List Quick Key works best. For example, for Favorites List 0, I press 00 or Favorites List 1 I press 01, then hit the "E" button. That took some getting used to since I was used to the x96 series scanners and how their quick keys worked.

As noted above, the same "rules" apply to the "nothing to scan" situation (quick keys on, location control if used, being correct and service types assigned and selected as appropriate).

Yes it is a little confusing on Quick Keys. You set some quick keys one place and another quick key elsewhere. System and Department/Site Quick keys are in the Browser. The "collection" of things in the Browser that get written to the scanner generate a Favorites List and the place to assign the Favorites List Quick Key is in the Write Data window.

Hopefully when Gommert puts the finishing touches on the software he'll then tackle the User Manual and will give information on this.

One thing I've found I must take caution with when writing data to the scanner. There is a box to enable Quick Keys after upload. This is checked by default. What that appears to do is turn on al Favorites List Quick Keys, even those I have off on purpose.

Profile Editor

One thing I've noticed is the absence of a Profile Editor or Configuration Editor as it is known in other ARC products.

Will this be something added in the future?

I tried the 00 and 01 method and still the problem exists...both favorites lists are being scanned no matter if I select 00 or 01. Actually 00 is a separate quick key from 0 and 01 from 1. You've identified another bug in this software. Also, the software is automatically adding a system quick key of 0 for each system. Any comments from Butel on these issues?

Use the qkey overview option and then you can see how the different qkeys are programmed.

Please see my attached QKey Overview. Is everything in order? I'm not sure and I continue to have the same problem...if I enter QKey 1, both favorites lists are being scanned. If I enver QKey 2, again, both favorites lists are being scanned.
