I am working on a file for the Austin area. I know that Bastrop County uses the GATRRS system. My question is the talkgroups for Bastrop County on the LCRA 900 MHz system still being used?

Thanks
Don

Rob,

I think the conflict arose when GATRRS site 40 came up using the same frequencies as the old analog system. I don't doubt the Site 7 is little used. Site 40 is supposed to be the primary Bastrop County public safety site and the old analog site is reportedly decommissioned.

P25 Site 40 - Bastrop Simulcast Site Details (Greater Austin/Travis Regional Radio System (GATRRS))
Old Analog - Bastrop County Trunking System, Bastrop County, Texas - Scanner Frequencies

It was reported that the old analog site is shut down and the freqs moved to P25 site 40. I personally monitored Site 40 in use as a P25 site. Is this no longer the case? Are both the old analog site and the newer site 40 up? Which site is using which freqs? Obviously, they both can't be suing the same frequencies.

I programmed in the Bastrop GATRRS site. I also programmed in the LCRA P25 Bastrop site to search for talkgroups. My area uses the LCRA P25 system. I didn't program in the three LCRA 900 MHz sites in Bastrop county.

Thanks

Don, let us know what you find. I live in far north Austin off Parmer/Mopac so I'm definitely not the best source for Bastrop. My scanners do "control channel" scanning and I just wanted to point out that the 851.95 control channel for the Bastrop 007 site is not the primary one for Bastrop. Most of the traffic on that system are Austin/Travis Co spillover stuff like Austin Energy, and I'm hearing flooding related talkgroups on there tonight.
The 859.7125 control channel from Bastrop Simulcast is the system that has most all the Bastrop related Traffic. Sorry if I was confusing it earlier. and yes, both are P25.

Both of these sites are on the GATRRS page and are P25: http://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=2
More used 1 40 (28) Bastrop Simulcast 854.03750 856.71250 857.71250a 857.76250a 858.71250a 858.93750 859.71250c
Less common: 1 007 Bastrop County 851.23750 851.95000c 852.23750 852.55000

I will let you know what I find for Bastrop county if I go that way. I programmed in site 40 not site 07.

Thanks
Don

LCRA LE on P25 & EDACS

Yes, there are LE agencies using LCRA systems. I have personally heard them using such in Gillespie county. I know that other LE agencies have used both of these systems. I've also monitored Bastrop County using my PSR 500, but I programmed all of the system frequencies.

I wasn't aware that any of the Bastrop Law enforcement was on the LCRA system. I thought they were all on the GATRRS. Don, if you want to monitor Bastrop, I would put in both sites that are listed under GATRRS.

I'm sorry, but I forgot to write that I monitored Bastrop LE on GATRRS. I did not make that very clear. The LCRA analog site doesn't show LE, but Fire, etc. is there.

Ensnared the tgs on the LCRA 900 MHz system for Bastrop County listed on the LCRA system page in the db are the ones I was asking about. I know that Bastrop County uses the GATRRS system. I think the tgs on the LCRA system for Bastrop County are old or they are patches from the LCRA system to the GATRRS system.

Thanks
Don

Well, I have had limited exposure to the area in question. But, mostly, it was GATRRS that I heard. By the way, if you do identify LCRA 900 mhz, it is helpful to engage audio boost.
