OK - sounds like you are squared away. Can use the RR database to decide which talkgroups you wish to program into scan lists and set those up for more selective monitoring.

^^^ Be patient. Most Fireboard/EMS comms are on the Trunked System. There may be no calls. Delaware uses lots of Encryption, so not much to listen to. Think of Delaware as "The Private State".

As suggested, set up a Group of Channels with TGs you want to monitor and use ID Scan Mode.

I'm a volunteer EMT as well.... and hear the chatter on EMSDSP through the VHF re-broadcast... I just haven't heard it on my scanner. Just making sure I do have it set up correctly and that I didn't miss something that is causing that specific TG to not come accross at all.

Interesting. You are still operating in ID SEARCH mode and the radio is not transiently hanging up on other talkgroups (perhaps without audio)?

Dave, it sure is amazing how much of the DE system has become encrypted now - - very unfortunate. When I was passing through NCC a few days ago, testing my 536HP, it seemed that NCC PD's primary TG was strapped secure about 95% of the time.

I had a completely wiped radio with nothing locked out and still didn't hear K-EMSDSP. I do have it programmed as a channel, I'm just waiting for the next call to come through before I give up on search mode and go back to ID Scan mode.

NCCPD is Encrypted FOREVER! The reason: Smartphone Apps! Yes, we cant have the bad guys listening to a delayed police call with no control of what is streamed. Very efficient way to avoid capture. Again, Delaware is "The Private State"

As Dave suggested - confirmed that you don't have locked-out checked for that particular TG.

Very unfortunate, Dave. Agree on the lack of logic in all of that. I sure hope the 3 primary DSP "Command" channels are not next in line. Have the County and Statewide PMA TGs been left in the clear?

So you are running in ID SCAN mode - - and the scanlist in which EMS Disp appears is enabled?

Or are you still in ID SEARCH mode while not getting a peep on that TG?

Fortunately for the civilian populace.... EMSDSP has been silent period.... Unfortunately for me, I have to wait in ID search mode to make sure that I still hear it. The other TGs I have in that group, K-EMSOP1 for instance, are coming through on ID SEARCH without issue. It's just K-EMSDSP that I'm not hearing

Hello,

Add K-FIRE 1 and K-EMSOP 1 to your Scan List or Group. Some EMS Calls are routed on these TG's. There are MDT's or CAD's in the response vehicles as well.

Done that. As stated before, I am a volunteer EMT and familiar with the system enough to be dangerous. I also worked for DE DIVCOM when the motorola system was being installed many years ago. Of course I have lost most of that knowledge, but being a computer programmer by trade, it's not too hard to grasp. It's just annoying that this scanner worked beautifully before I deployed and now they have to change stuff up. Oh well. guess that comes with the times.

^^^ If you still have contacts at DIVCOM, they may be able to help you with your concerns. The only changes are NPSPAC Rebanding, and more Encryption, lots of it. The TG may no longer be used.
