Uniden comes out with new scanners and does not care about the 436 scanners anymore, sad. After many years this radio stopped updating... the incredible thing is that it continues to sell despite not supporting the firmware... What happened to the programmers?
Exactly, I know that one of the programmers died of cancer and apparently the code seems to have been closed because since then it has never been updated again. The serious problem is that it continues to be sold without support (more than 500 dollars)Uniden comes out with new scanners and does not care about the 436 scanners anymore, sad.
Upman did mention that they were working on that, didn't he?and i would hazard a guess that at some point there is nothing left to update.
unless it has something to do with waffles...

TrueSteve you are also limited to the size of the flash to store the firmware in.
With the x36's P2's and SDS's being the first with enough memory to work with.
Offhand, I don’t recall that he explicitly posted that, but I read the response as that was what was the case. Not enough flash memory left for other large scale firmware updates.Did UPMan not also state that the P2's at their current offerings that they were close on the on the memory limits.
