Just was looking on another website that is know don't know if i can say it but i noticed that they have these scanners on there site for 1000.00 i just thought that was wrong. i thought that the suggested retail price was what they had to price it at. that is almost double. well thanks for this site and i have learned alot and have ordered mine and can't wait until it comes.

MSRP is just that..."suggested". A dealer can charge whatever they think they can get. I've seen some pretty outrageous prices on Amazon and EBay for various things.
As they say, "Buyer beware". It pays to shop around.

Boycott that seller.

Unfortunately there are people out there who try to take advantage of others. I collect a popular sunglass brand and I see it all the time where a 350-400 pair of sunglasses sellers list on a popular auction site for 1200-1400.00. It's disgusting. Within the trading community they will sell for 7-800 due to how scarce they have become but those sellers asking 1400.00 are just waiting for a sucker to come along

Getting a little OT again, but...

For Amazon, one reason you see a lot of "outrageous prices" is because the dealer has little or no stock, so they want to discourage orders, but they don't want to lose the listing. That way, when they replenish stock, they lower the price to what they are really selling the item for. IOW, the high price is a placeholder tactic.

For eBay, well, they keep adding to their fees, so maybe the seller wants to break even.

There's a difference between making a profit and price gouging

So, was it ever confirmed that all cables/connections - which means power (AC/DC), data, GPS - are interchangeable with this new 536 and the HP/x96 models?

I sure hope so, because I am good to go if they are! ;)

Looking forward to this unit! :)

Yes, all the same/interchangeable with the addition of true USB for data transfer (cable included).

Actually, the data (programming) cable on the x96 series is different. I think you missed that in the question, Paul.

I ordered mine from the online Bearcat Warehouse store. I prefer them and ScannerMaster to
anyone else.

Does anyone know when the Bearcat Warehouse will start shipping
the BCDx36HP models? They said January, and it is now mid-January.

I was going through the manual. Under Custom Search I see no option for Control Channel only like on the XT. I take it there is another way to search for WACN and System ID. Maybe this is now under Discovery Mode?
