Computer IP is 10.0.1.50 while the scanner is 10.0.1.75.
This is the basic order of the whole setup.

1. Setup Data(Virtual Display)
Done

2. Setup audio
Done

3. Setup RSOIP or Web Server
Set up both. RSOIP on port 5000, Web Server on port 5003. Started both.

4. Test RSOIP or Web Server on the local network
Haven't tried the RSOIP > Client setup yet. Able to monitor the scanner on port 5003, visual display only, no audio yet.

5. Configure the router Port Forwarding
Configured Port Forwarding for IP Address 10.0.1.50, Ports 5000 and 5003, rebooted router.

6. Test RSOIP or Web Server on the internet.
Unable to access through Public IP:5000 or 5003, times out. Testing with Open Port Check also times out. Can I assume Spectrum (Charter) is not allow access to port 5000?

Let's stick with Web Server as I said before. RSOIP is the same setup that we can do later. Doing setup now adds to the confusion with too many things going on..

4. Test RSOIP or Web Server on the local network
no audio yet. I would fix this first. Does the Web Server audio meter move? Go to the URL setup in the audio Web Server tab and see if bytes are incrementing.

6. Test RSOIP or Web Server on the internet.

I never had a problem with Spectrum blocking port 5000 or 5003. Web Server is on port 5003 so turn on the Web Server and go to Open Port Check Tool

I have visual and audio on the PC running ProScan.

Yes, the meter(s) are moving when there is audio.

I am able to access the scanner on the local LAN using 10.0.1.50:5000 using a browser, however, no audio. Or at least this is what I thought until I noticed a "Play" button behind the upper left corner of the scanner display. Pressing "Play" and now there is audio to go with the visual! Well, except it is about 5-10 seconds behind the display.

This on an iPhone using Safari. Like I believe you said, Chrome might be the better choice?

I think we are there, at least for now. Thank you for all the help so far! Now to get public access to work, but that will have to be another time.

The audio player network / latency buffer delays the audio. So to compensate, the Web Page has an option "Metadata Delay". Change it to 5 or 10 seconds so the text tags on the Web Page is in sync with the audio. May have to experiment to get it right.

Well, good news! Tried after leaving the house and it works on the Public side as well, not sure why it wouldn’t at home, but that’s fine.

Will adjust the settings to put the display more in sync with the audio.

Thanks, again, for all the help and your patience,
Tim

TFerg53:

Glad to hear you got it working. Assuming you are talking about the Proscan Web Server? Accessing the stream inside the home network requires you use the "internal" IP number of the PC that Proscan is running on (followed by colon and the port). If you tried to use the "outside" IP when at home, that won't work. And yes, using Chrome is much better in my experience.

Very strange thing happened after getting home last night, the ProScan feed continued to work on the Public IP on the local LAN, and is working this morning. Go figure!

I've searched the Web Page for the "Metadata Delay" option without success. Did find "Metadata Source", but am wondering if I'm on the right page. Read through the manual as well looking for this option.

Thanks,
Tim

Tim :

The Metadata Delay option is on the lower right hand side of the web page when you connect to the scanner using a browser. The screen capture below is my BCD536HP when I connect using the Chrome browser. You'll see it right below the word parameter. It's a drop down that allows you to choose a delay in minutes. Mike..

Instruction Guide: BCD536HP Wi-fi Stream and Remote Access Via Proscan Web Server

All:

I put together a step-by-step instruction guide for those members who want to wirelessly stream audio & data from their BCD536HP and remote control the scanner using the Web Server feature in ProScan. The guide was passed by the author of ProScan (Bob Aune) for content & accuracy. It can be viewed, printed and/or downloaded at the link below. Hope this is helpful:

Is the RSOIP server on a different port then Web Server?
Did you set up Port forwarding on the RSOIP port?
Are you using ProScan in RSOIP Client mode or ProScan Free Client on the far side?
Did you use Open Port Check Tool to see if the server can be seen from the outside of the local network?

RSOIP is on port 5000 Web Server is on port 5003

Port forwarding is set up on the RSOIP port 5000 and 5003 on Web Server

Using chrome on Iphone Remote and Proscan paid version in server mode RSOIP scanner's a BCD536

open port check tool was a success on port 5000 with the outside IP

still no go on 192.168.1.125:5000 on local port or outside network
but if i use web server it works just fine locally and outside on port 5000 or 5003.

That's good. Port Forwarding setup correctly.

On the far (or remote) side, use ProScan in RSOIP Client mode or the Free Client.

still no go on 192.168.1.125:5000 on local port or outside network
IP address 192 won't work on the outside. Use the outside address. Enter it in on the ProScan RSOIP Client Server IP Address or Name box.

Hi Chris:

In addition to what Bob has suggested above, can you clarify if you are trying to access the 536 remotely using a browser on your iPhone in "RSOIP" mode? If so, that won't work. RSOIP is a Server/Client method that requires using a windows PC running either a full version of ProScan or the free Client to connect remotely. Only the Web Server method uses a browser to remotely connect.
