Well, after some trial and error and finally following directions, I've got ProScan up and running! I'm able to access it at home with the LAN at 10.0.1.50:5003 (Remote Control over IP port). However, I'm not getting sound on the laptop speakers it is on.

Go to the Audio Control tab in ProScan, Monitor & Test subtab, and ensure "Loopback" is checked.

Also, can someone check the outside IP, 75.129.240.85:5003, and see if you get something? I can't seem to get there from within the LAN.

Thanks!

Tim

For the Web Server to be seen from outside the LAN, the Router Port Forwarding needs setting up with the following three items.
1. Use TCP
2. Use the computer IP address of 10.0.1.50
3. Use port 5003

{edit} I see you're are using RSOIP. Port Fowarding same setup as Web Server

Do you have ProScan in RSOIP client mode or the Free RSOIP Client on the far side running?

How do I attach a screen shot of the port forwarding screen? I believe I have it set to forward using private IP 10.0.1.50, Private TCP port is 5003, Public TCP port is 5003. Nothing for UDP.

Off hand, I believe 1. Click the attachment icon(paper clip). 2. Select the file to upload. 3. Upload

For troubleshooting, use this tool to see if the server can be seen from the outside. Start the server first. Open Port Check Tool

I'm apparently not following, where do I find the option to switch between the sound card and BCD536HP WiFi?

Also, do I want the Input Sound Device to be set to the Primary Sound Capture Device or URL for the Web Server and Remote Scanner over IP? With it set to Primary Sound Capture Device, I get activity on the meters and data collection. With it set to URL, I get data collection (TCP/UDP) but no meter activity.

Private IP should be the ProScan machine IP, not the scanner IP.

TFerg53, Port Forwarding looks good.

Did you try Open Port Check Tool

It sounds like you found the URL Setup. If you see the TX and RX bytes increment, that is a good sign. Go to the Audio tab and select the RSOIP or Web Server (depending on which one you are using) and select URL in the Input Sound Device. If you don't have audio then perhaps the scanner is not on a channel or the ProScan level control is not at 100%

{edit} Nevermind on the Port Forwarding looks good. I see jonwienke caught a problem. Set it to your computer IP.

RSOIP should be set to "Client" Mode and not "Server" More?

Setting it to client mode and putting in the IP of the web server, 10.0.1.50, kicks it out when I try to start it.

Should only the RSOIP server (or client mode) be running and not the web server?

Tried the Open Port Check Tool and it timed out for the Public IP with both ports 5003 (RSOIP) and 5000 (web server). (I'm port-forwarding both ports.)

Computer IP is 10.0.1.50 while the scanner is 10.0.1.75.

TFerg53, Ok then Port Forwarding looks ok.

I think we should start from the beginning.

This is the basic order of the whole setup.

1. Setup Data(Virtual Display)
2. Setup audio
3. Setup RSOIP or Web Server
4. Test RSOIP or Web Server on the local network
5. Configure the router Port Forwarding
6. Test RSOIP or Web Server on the internet.

I'm not sure where you're at. First are you using the Web Server (Uses a Web Browser far end) feature or RSOIP (Uses ProScan Client mode far end)

Are you at step 1? Do you have a virtual display in ProScan?
If step 2, do you see the audio meter move?

It is slowly sinking in, and my apologies, but I now see, I think, that, in order to received the scanner over a browser, the "Web Server" must be set to "URL" with the IP of the computer ProScan is running on (10.0.1.50) and the port set in the "Web Server" which is now 5003?

The RSOIP is for downloading and using the ROSIP Client on the computer, and it needs to be set to the port 5000?

Both the "Web Server" and "RSOIP" can be up and running at the same time, and you "tune into" which one you wish to monitor the scanner with?

Tim

P.S. I'm now getting scanner audio on the PC that ProScan is running on, YEA!

I'm using a browser to try and monitor the scanner. The IP/Port would be 10.0.1.50:5003 for the web server address, I believe?

Okay so you want to use the Web Server feature. Let's stick with that.

You haven't really answered some my questions so far. It will save time. Also this is a bit redundant as it's in the ProScan Manual.

Are you at Step 1 or 2?

Okay I didn't see this before. Yes the RSOIP and Web Server can run same time. Let's stay with Web Server.

So the Web Browser works locally on 10.0.1.50:5003. Is that correct?
