I have consolidated provider. The main internet line runs into a zhone router/modem and then connect to netgear router. The router login I was using was for the netgear. Do I need to login to the other one? All my Ethernet cables go to zhone and I assume netgear is just an extension router?

So you do have two routers on-line. That's what I thought. Log in to the Zhone router and setup Port Forwarding with TCP, Desktop IP address, & port using for the server.

{edit} I take that back "If you don't mind me saying and I said this the other day too. You keep confusing me. "
Just be more accurate on your response and it will save us both time. The other day you said one online and the other in the box.

Camera Interference?

I'm assuming that since ProScan is on port 5000, it and my cameras won't conflict since they are on other ports? Dumb question, I know, but I've been known the really mess things up.

Also, I assume ProScan is a PC product only?

And, another dumb question, the MAC address on my 536 is located under which menu. I really am glad you posted how to give the 536 a static IP, it just doesn't want to stay on one particular IP for some reason.

This is information I've been waiting for, for a long time.

Thanks for not only posting it, but taking the time to 'xplain in layman's terms!

I've downloaded and installed ProScan 12.7 on my iMac using Parallels and Windows 7. I set a static IP of the scanner to 10.0.1.75. I opened port 5003 on the router (Apple) assigning it to the IP.

I can't get ProScan to find the scanner, although I will continue trying. I also assume that I wouldn't need to worrying about the "Comm" port since the 536 is connected to the network using the Wi-Fi dongle?

Do I set both the Public and Private TCP Ports to 5003? What about UDP?

I am trying very hard to figure this out and it’s very frustrating. I logged into zhone with this page? Computer Ip is 135.26.173.51 and ip of 10.0.0.20 for scanner.

Set both public and private ports to 5003. TCP only.

Go to the Comm. Port menu and select URL. Go to the URL Setup and type in the scanner IP address exactly as shown in the example below the IP Address box.

Don't use 135.26.173.51. Use the computer IP address 10.0.0.11

{edit} I should of said use the local IP Address 10.0.0.11
Also Do you have your computer font setting higher than 100%. If you're fine with that, ok but ProScan would look better at 100%.

I think we’re not getting something straight. The scanner is hooked up to WiFi using the netgear router not the zhone? So do I port forward on netgear or zhone?

Do port forwarding on the router connected to the internet which is a Zhone. Correct? The problem is ProScan RSOIP server cannot be seen from the outside. Nothing really to do with the scanner Wi-Fi.

The router was reset and changed the Ip of the desktop

I would also check that you don't have any Internet Security program running that could block the connection.
Also see if it helps by removing the Port Forwarding from the Netgear.

Other then that, I don't have any more ideals.

And that is why you reserve IP addresses for any device doing server type stuff, so that a reboot doesn't require reconfiguring everything from scratch.

I've apparently got a different issue. When I open port 5003 (or 5000 or 6000 for that matter), it disrupts my 536's feed to Broadcastify. When I remove the port above, Nicecast plays nice again and connects with Broadcastify.

Any idea what's going on? This is without ProScan setup and running yet.

Also, I'm not getting the same screen when opening ProScan that you are showing in your images. There are no Audio or Web Server, etc., tabs.

Well, after some trial and error and finally following directions, I've got ProScan up and running! I'm able to access it at home with the LAN at 10.0.1.50:5003 (Remote Control over IP port). However, I'm not getting sound on the laptop speakers it is on.

Also, can someone check the outside IP, 75.129.240.85:5003, and see if you get something? I can't seem to get there from within the LAN.

Thanks!

Tim
