Good Day Folks!

I messed up a setting somewhere, and I can figure out what I did. For some reason the scanner is not stopping on a signal. I pretty sure it's something obvious that I am missing, but can't figure it out after 2 hours of trying.

1) Made sure the antenna was all connected - I am able to scan Conv. with out issue
2) I use freescan to program the radio
3) I see the signal strength moving on the radio - but it just keeps scanning - It will stop occasionally for a few seconds on a channel sometimes.

4) I am in Columbus, Ohio - I have not seen anything on rebanding
5) On the display I see ID-scan scrolling by and NFM below that
6) I have done a complete reset of the scanner - and I have the latest firmware
7) I have completely uninstalled/reinstalled Freescan - and redownloaded the programming from the database

Thanks in advance for any advice,

Steven

I have the same problem here,But it's because im about 300 feet away from a Nextel site.Try moving your antenna .Use the band scope to see if your noise floor is high also.

Same issue, weird thing is, if I press Hold/Resume - and manually stay on a channel, I can here that channel loud and clear. Another weird issue, even if I turn the SQ to 0 I don't even get "static". Just loaded up local Conv. and when I turn the SQ to 0 I will here static. Seems I am only having issues with Trunking

SQ at 0 in trunk mode you will not hear static, think of trunk mode as PL/DPL as far as open SQ goes.

Thanks to everyone who replied, I changed out the BNC to PL259 connector, and BAM! back in business. Not sure if that was it, or if there is something that was causing interference in the neighborhood was turned off. will be monitoring, to see. I noticed the neighbor left when I was swapping it out, will wait to see when he returns.

TO me sounds like a short with the antenna connector and not the bnc connector on the scanner. When you added the adapter it disguised the short.
