I've had no issues with it at all... Nothing rubbing off, no performance, works very well on my UHF EDACS system, programming simple, software does the job. There's nothing I've seen that would have me not recommend it, I bought a 2nd one already.

You're talking about the BCT15, right? Which software are you using? I'm assuming UASD.

where not saying anything wrong wih it but look at the 396 when it first came out..i hope there is nothing wrong with it at all. instead of dealing with sending them back for repair its better to wait and see to make sure.

Yes I'm talking about the BCT15 and yes I'm using UASD. The only "issue" when the 396 came out was ruboff, that was fixed quickly, everything else was firmware updated quickly for features additions / tweaks / etc. Again wait if you want - but I can assure you that nothing will change if you buy it today versus two months from now...

Hello,

No issues with BCT15. It is the best replacement for the BC780XLT and BC785D w/o card. Very good on MilAir! It is a joy to use!

Thanks. I was going to wait for ARC15, but I think I'm going to order it now and buy the UASD as well. Since it's going to be used at home only, I won't be doing a lot of reprogramming anyway.

I was one of the lucky people who had no silk screen issues with the 396. I'm also extremely happy with the 996, which is why I'm looking at the BCT15.

Time to send an email.

Yes, it is system based, (NO BANKS) and only when programming by hand. UASD will load duplicate frequencies in a group, or system.

The Pro96 never suffered from a rub-off issue.

Nevermind - I guess you're referring to the duplicate issue. Which is confusing to me - why would you program in duplicate frequencies?

Yes. It's a very good scanner with similar features as the BCD996T except digital and minus 3500 Channels. Works fantastic w/GPS and good sensitivity, similar to BR330T. It has replaced my BC780XLT, which has been retired for digital signals decoding. I am waiting for a Ram-Mount so I can go mobile with it in my new truck. :)

I don't have one yet so I can't say for sure, but the RR Wiki for the BCT-15 says:
"Two-Color LCD and Keypad Backlight – select red or green backlighting" but that might have been an error if someone cut & pasted details from the `996 data.

The last version of the BCT-15 owner's manual that I downloaded doesn't give any mention to selecting display color, only "orientation" and "contrast".
