BCT8: BCT8 No "ID SCAN" after firmware update

BCT8 No "ID SCAN" after firmware update - Montco PA

Updated firmware on two BCT8's as per instructions to follow a rebanded mot2 800 system. Now i can not get scanner to ID SCAN. Have tried manually inputting rebanded systems as well as using ARC8 with same results.

Although uniden said firmware was needed for rebanded, my system (Montgomery County PA 800) actually worked fine with old firmware. Yes, I should have left alone

So i have one BCT8 with old firmware that scans the 800 rebanded system fine, and two with updated firmware that simply SCAN and do not pick up.

The older one does the familiar B1 and ID SCAN and shows the scan id lists turned on. The updated ones simpl show active bank numbers and SCAN

Welcome all advice or a link to old firmware (can we go backwards?)

I don't own one of these nor do I use Butel software, but I'm pretty sure you have to changed the system type to "rebanded". Whether the software lets you do that or you have to completely start over I don't know.

And so you know, your other radio isn't working fine, it is missing calls.

Every time a call is assigned to one of the below frequencies your BCT8 will miss it...

851.275
851.650
853.275

Possibly, use in a combined bank with a few conventional channels as well... but never noticed missing anything. After the firmware I do now have the E2-cus setting and switched to it but refuses to ID SCAN still. Have manually gone thru and confirmed Base settings and all.....

You also have to enter custom rebanding tables in addition to changing system types..

Yep... tried allowing software to do and i manually entered. Very puzzling. Was curious about trying to install old firmware and see if would at least start ID scanning again... but cant find old firmware

?? Why would the BAND PLANS importing from RR be different from ones listed in the WIKI? Just saw they are not matching.
Uniden WIKI calling for Band Plan 1 851.025 - 854.0000
Band Plan 2 851.0125 - 868.9875
But RR loading Band Plan 1 851.025 - 859.000
Band Plan 2 851.025 - 861.9875

The one in the Wiki should be the correct ones.

And I had actually looked at the wrong system, but yours still has frequencies that your radio won't tune to if it doesn't have the new FW and the custom tables set correctly.
