Yeah, cause that's one more step in an already busy dispatch environment that will never be missed...My understanding is they will only simulcast when mutual aid is assigned.

Stupidest thing I've ever heard. Blows my mind with the decisions that are madeYes, as of Tuesday, January 17th, they have completely swapped over to the new 800 system. For those that can't here the 800, they will simulcast on the old Saco/Bidd dispatch only on calls that have mutual aid responding, and those calls will be patched to the old Bidd Fire Ops. My understanding is they will only simulcast when mutual aid is assigned.
Nobody is blaming you. You provide excellent info. It's just it gets my blood boiling when the taxpayers spend millions of dollars on what was once the buzzword, interoperability, and yet the total opposite happens. Case and point, interoperability is a mindset.I have nothing to do with the decisions of their system. I would never advise someone to set up a system in this manor. As someone who will be interacting with it, I can tell you that we are all interested to see how it will shake out.
I will admit that the 800 side of the system, from the samples I have heard, sound great. I have been told that the signal is not carrying far outside the mutual aid area, which was true of their VHF system.

ahh ok thank also do you know if the Police will be on this new system and if the will still continue to be encrypted? When a user (member of the RR community) makes some valid OTA confirmed monitoring submissions.
BTW you only need the FB2 channels

Considering that the Chief of Police was a major proponent of the new system, I'd be astonished if they didn't switch over, too--they may already have done so--I'm no longer a local.ahh ok thank also do you know if the Police will be on this new system and if the will still continue to be encrypted?
Heard them calling it Tac 2 the other day. Heard Fire activity on TG 203 and TG 204 but no channel name..Heard them on a fire alarm on TG 202 this afternoon. Presumably Fireground 2?
I also heard a medical on 204 but haven’t heard 203 used yet. Im guessing 201 is dispatch, 202-206 are fireground 2-6.

My guess would be analog simplex but I don’t have much to base that onany thoughts if TA1 and TA2 are TG's on the trunk or conventional simplex ?
and for those in the region, I would suggest search the 700 band for the DRVS
