well at least it wasn't like the one last week where the guy fishing almost got creamed by an out of control car that went for a swim....it did hit his bike and barely missed him.

Rash of Fires or Rekindle?

IFD back in the area of 31st and Stuart (I misspelled it last time) on IFD Ops 2 (MECA1/3344).

First unit in says smoke showing.

Don't know what the address was last time, so I can't decide if it's a rekindle or not.

The first was at Stuart 3114 and the later one was at Stuart 3049

ISP, IMPD, and Greenwood had a big pursuit going on, I first heard it when it was at US-31 and Stop 11 on the southside of Indy. The suspect ran southbound in the northbound lanes of 31 all the way down to Commerce Drive in Franklin. Apprehension made at 0039.

Boone County (Thorntown actually) initiated a pursuit of another Dover Bank robber at about 1700 hrs yesterday. Chased down into Montgomery, and Putnam County. 403 (Thorntown unit) ran out of gas pulling the hill up 236 to 231, and the Boone County unit that took over didn't realize it was a T-Intersection and wrecked out bad. Excise lost him and nothing since. We mobilized and checked the state parks and whatnot, but no sign. Traffic was on JMA1, and Boone Countywide.

lol, that reminds me of a chase in the late 70's in Ohio where someone I know was being chased and actually stopped and filled up his gas tank and threw the attendant the money and took off again as the police were coming down the road. As the police went past the gas station one of them ran out of gas. They weren't about to catch him any way, the guy had a 69 GTO Judge Ram Air IV 400 and the locals didn't have anything that could keep up with it.

Ah the good old days.....

Is something happening in Elkhart county this evening?

IDHS dispatched someone over there to "investigate" and they've contacted ATF for further response.

Must be, ISP Dist 52 has an investigator heading up as well. He just left 30 minutes ago.

I am a little late on this so it isn't exactly a "Breaking Event" but at around 4:45 this afternoon Cass County Sheriff's deputies and Galveston Fire worked a head-on MVA w/ 2 fatalities and two other injuries on US 35 just north of Galveston. The first units on the scene reported that the two fatalities weren't breathing and had no pulse so I assume they died on impact but that's pure speculation on my part.

Edit:

Here is a link to the story from the Kokomo Tribune.

Two killed in crash on U.S. 35

Homicide/attempted homicide in Anderson, unknown number of victims. After getting home from ORPI and the truck race I heard dispatch calling out detectives for questioning witnesses and victims. Victims were at St Johns and Community hospitals. About 3:20 am they called for homicide detectives. It appears there was also at least one arrest as they sent one dtective to the jail. They also appear to have more than one crime scene. They also called additional officers for security at one hospital due to a large group that had gone there.

Hancock Co pursuit - stolen U-Haul

An alert Hancock Co Deputy wound up in a pursuit after he had a conversation with a black male who had picked up a U-Haul trailer. The officer was following the subject to WalMart in Indy where the suspect claimed they had paperwork. While heading to check it out the subject tried to flee, then did a U-Turn on I-70 going back towards Greenfield. The pursuit went north on SR 9 where the suspect bailed. Greenfield PD joined the search in the woods as well as Shelbyville or Shelby County K9 and McCordsville K9. The incident has been going on about 26 minutes now.

Update:
At least one of the two K9's picked up a scent. ISP joined the search and no helo's available from ISP or IMPD. GPD getting thermal imaging from PD to help in search.
The suspect was involved in a 10-50 when the chase ended and he took off on foot and one cruiser was damaged but driveable.
