I really need to get around to installing Unitrunker and setting up a data gathering laptop to mine the system. The last time I actually had such a setup it used Etrunk, it was that long ago.
Some interesting developments with the testing procedures the techs have been hard at work on:
Over the past couple weeks, the two teams of CI Techs have been back and forth testing what seems to be the new sites that are soon to go live, I'm presuming in the south.
So far, they've done some sort of channel testing ranging from odd channels first over to even up through channels 15(Site frequencies?), as well a couple hours worth of RSSI level testing that my internal recording picked up while I was away.
The secondary team of techs also have gone out and done coverage grid mapping near the central 192/dairy rd corridor. Even with my 436HP, both the techs and myself had some extreme loss still occurring along the power lines. I don't know how much of that signal can be recovered from the new sites. I've always had signal loss when scanning traveling through that corridor.
They've also been conducting certain internal structure testing which tells me most of their land coverage has been completed and now they're getting down to the fine tuning of certain troublesome areas.
Now that ULS is back online from the overhaul, I'll dive in and see if any additions have come through

I heard brevard on a volusia (15-004) patch the past couple days, definitely was digital. I think p25 not pv but it was short and hard to tell for sure.

I also get the Palm Bay CC 851.5625 with full signal on north Merritt Island. But when the scanner switches to a voice signal its too weak to decode.
It seems only the CC is on the north simulcast sites but none of the other frequencies for palm bay.
It may be an attempt to link palm bay to the north simulcast sites??

Since I'm on Merritt Island we are probably not listening to the same simulcast site.
But anyway I am not hearing any voice channels.

If a Palm Bay officer is logged in on PBPD talkgroups and drives to, say, the VIera Courthouse, or the BCSO sheriff's station on Merritt Island or Titusville, as he moves through the various coverage areas, his radio will switch sites, affiliate, and the talkgroup that he is logged in on will now be carried on that site.
Motorola calls this a SmartZone setup. Harris calls it Networked. The system transfers the talkgroup you need to the site you need it at.
If you're actually hearing specific frequencies assigned to Palm Bay in northern areas, it could be either tropoducting or it may be part of the ongoing upgrade process. Eventually the county system will have a north simulcast cell and a south simulcast cell with some overlap in coverage.

It seems that the north simulcast has changed its CC to 851.5165. The problem is this frequency is also in the LCN for the Palm Bay site.
The current CC for Palm Bay is 851.900. So if you listen to the Palm Bay site, but are closer to a north simulcast site the radio locks to the 851.5165 CC instead which is the wrong one.
The result I get is the radio displays Palm Bay site TG's but since the LCN is different I hear no audio channels.
