OK don´t waste your money on the Thingverse 3D files posted. Here is the result of ¨order this printed¨ the 3D printed clip is way too short to reach the metal pin, and pretty narrow. Photo attached

I took the one I got a replacement from uniden I put that in and I decide to take it off and use rubber bands and find a local place that can do the clip.

Well I just sent my sds 100 that I bought in February of this year in for the repair of a broken battery clip. I just love that it will take 2-4 weeks for a simple fix.

my battery clip on my SDS100 just Broke, did not drop it, always in a case.. called Uniden , they said "NO KNOWN PROBLEM" I just hate being lied to... they will not send a clip out, just "send the unit back (at my cost) and wait up to 3 weeks". pay extra for quicker shipping back to me, and put a note in, and maybe I will get it back quicker. Spoke to supervisor, same story.

SO POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. !!

Why? They refused to send one out.. unit must go back to the manufacturer for replacement
While usually true, there have been exceptions posted here.

Yup, that would be me. When I was up in Alaska I was messaged by Uniden Support re my post about the broken clip. A brand new clip awaited me at home thanks to Jenna @ Uniden Support. I might mention that it took me several tries (and subsequent posts) before my malady was resolved. I tried to purchase one, to no avail. I contacted Uniden technical support, to no avail. It was by unsolicited response here in the forums by Uniden Support that finally got my clip replaced - at no charge, or shipping, I might add.

Not a bad idea. Anyone who's worked in customer service knows that sometimes it depends on the chemistry of the phone call. If at first you don't succeed, yada yada bada-bing.

Yes, I just confirmed with Uniden Support that they are not sending out the battery clip part anymore. Apparently, some policy changes have been made. Call Uniden technical support for more information and what you need to do to resolve this issue.

I just called Uniden to order two of these and was told they just changed their policy in the last few weeks and cannot sell those separate. So instead of selling me the $5 part that I can change in 2 minutes, I have to send it in for $89 repair. This is ridiculous. So now I have a $700 device that can't hold a battery unless I pay extra and lose it for 3 weeks.

Is your sds100 under warranty? I had order one a few months back and I decide to take it off cause it was too tight and I'm using rubber bands. Wonder why they stop selling the parts?

According to uniden there is no known issue regarding broken battery clips. Apparently they do not want anyone self installing these clips in voiding warranties due to opening the unit.
