I have a knob on my G5 set to scan digital F-1 and R-1 through R-4. I was hearing people sign on to calls and not hearing the dispatch. Came to work Friday morning shaking my head and simply put the patch back up.

Thank you! Oddly enough I didn't notice. It could be my imagination but it almost seems like the patch sounds a bit better since Friday.
On another note, has anyone ever noticed a real dead spot on the system around Kettle Run Road and over to Hopewell Road around Archway in Evesham? I know that's pretty much the county limit but every time I drive those areas with my G5 reception is very poor until I get almost to Hopewell & Kettle Run by the lake.

I don’t foresee any changes being made to enhance the audio quality. I do notice dead spots all over the county during my travels. Typically in the heavily forested, low-lying areas. My G5 works pretty well outside of the county limits to an extent. Usually about a mile or two in all directions I’ve found.

That's unfortunate. But it's still better than what we had. And I've pretty much found the same except in my location on Rt 73 near the Berlin circle. Reception is pretty inconsistent. Granted the NJICS Berlin tower is about a mile away but the G5 usually doesn't have trouble with those. A Unication device is not a portable so hopefully this is not replicated on the rare times when Evesham comes into West Berlin or Waterford even with patches in place.

Sorry to keep waking up this thread but there's something I'm looking for clarity on. So occasionally my scanner and new Relm BK radio defaults to the "South" simulcast for some weird reason. When they do, I find occasionally I miss dispatches from the F-1 rebroadcast. It's like it is arbitrarily turned on and off. When I'm on the "North" simulcast dispatch always comes in. Is it because someone with a radio has to be switched on to that channel in the South zone for it to come across? I'm guessing nobody down there has Unication G4/G5 pagers using QCII alerts?

All I can say is, I live in Bristol across from Burlington City. I get five by five with an adequate ground plane antenna on North simulcast.

I have never even got a tickle on South simulcast for whatever that is worth LOL.... Bob.

Are you saying that South takes priority over North, like the priority option is set on it?

If F1 dispatch is being carried on the North sites one would think this would be a system wide talk group and would be on the south sites as well.

Your radio(s) may be seeing one of the south sites first when they scan for a control channel. The south site in Tabernakel is not that far away or even the site in Greenbank near Sweetwater. Your radios could be choosing one of them because it received them first and met the RSSI criteria set in the radio. You could modify RSSI settings on your radios to help prevent this from happening if indeed this is your problem. Or just lock out the south sites and re-enable them when you travel down there.

Just thought I would mention as a wakeup for this forum that the F1 Simulcast isn't working. May have been all day, but I'm not sure.

I noticed that when I had to switch to it last night because the analog was terrible.
Seems to be working today but on mine the tone is a lot louder than the voice. Too annoying for me and the neighbors. Wish there was a way to block it or lower it from screaming.
So, I'm using the old analog scanner for dispatches now.

The dispatch console was rebooted yesterday by an operator due to a “glitch”, which inadvertently breaks any patches that are set up and it was never set back up.

The patch was set up by a technician from the radio shop. They never tell the operators when they make a change or update to the consoles, so operators never know when something isn’t working properly. Just one of the many failures.
