Unfortunately Dan's audio is very choppy even though he is getting a good signal so it would not make sense to feed it. Also I will be taking me feed down this evening. Hopefully camco911 or someone else decides to feed this system. Actually if I had another PSR800 I would be willing to do it but they are going for way too much money!

I am going to try some tweaks and hopefully the audio will be decent enough, then I will put the feed up. These new digital systems really frustrate me. I can't even reliably pickup Philly, and I'm WELL within city limits...

Ok, I have the feed up. It isn't perfect, as it suffers from LSM issues. I've tried several antennas and positions, and the current quality is about the best I can do. I will be looking for an 800 MHz yagi antenna shortly, so this may clear up once I get one. Anyway, just go to my page at PhillyFireFeed and click one of the options for Camden County Fire.

Well, it looks like I may have to put Camden on a shared feed. I tried relocating my MontCo scanner to another room, but I can't pick up MontCo from there. All of my feed scanners must be in the same room to utilize the rooftop antennas. I'm limited to 1 PC running 3 sound cards. The first sound card runs a private feed, the second currently runs the Philly/Bucks feed. The third card was running the MontCo/DelCo feed, but is now running Camden. So now I have to decide who to combine to cover Philly, Bucks, MontCo and Camden. I think I may end up re-configuring the feeds so that Philly and Camden are on one, and Bucks and MontCo are on the other tomorrow. I will keep all informed on what I do.

I am working on moving feeds around today on my site, so please bear with me. When I am done, there will be 2 feeds, 1 will cover Philly and Camden County, and 1 will cover Bucks and Montgomery County. I will update on here when the work is completed.

No problem connecting (6:38 AM). Philly (fire/medic) coming in loud and clear; Camden, somewhat muffled and choppy. Would that be police calls (encryption)? Not hearing any Philly police dispatch from Philly.

6:40 AM, just heard a medic call; loud and clear. I'm going to have to learn to switch to switch ears.

My feed does not carry any police channels, so you won't hear any. Philly fire typically sounds pretty clear, although depending on the which way the wind blows, it may cut out here and there. Usually moving the antenna fixes that.

Camden on the other hand, is a different animal. I get a great signal strength with any antenna I use, but with SLM it just cuts in and out a lot. I have a yagi antenna on the way, hopefully once I connect it, the LSM issues will go away. Until then there isn't much I can do. As Joe and I have discussed off-board, us scanner listeners have to do a lot of experimentation with antennas and placement with these simulcast systems. I've tried every antenna I have, between spare rubber ducks mobile antennas out the window, all 3 rooftop base antennas, they all give me the same result (although some worse than others).

Yes, a dual feed sometimes takes some getting used to. I know some folks use the balance control on their speakers to turn down (or off) one side if they just want to hear what's on the other side. Just think about this: When I first setup my feed privately, I had 2 radios running on EACH side! lol. Try listening to 4 radios at once and see how quick that gets old lol...

All,

Please use the direct link on Radio Reference/Broadcastify to access the feed, please do not directly connect to my site via phillyscanner.bounceme.net

thanks!

Thanks for providing the feed. Sounds great. PSR-800 scanners are going for at least $700, if they're even any left in stock.

"Fireground" channels??

Heard County say switch from Fireground 1 to North Tac 1. Don't see any Fireground 1, 2, etc. talkgroups listed in RR frequency database. A firefighter mentioned that they thought the Fireground talkgroups were strictly for unit-to-unit comm within short range, not repeated, not monitored by County. Are these on 700 MHz or old analog freqs? Anyone know anything about this?

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.3.5; en-us; ZTE-N910 Build/GRJ90) AppleWebKit/533.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/533.1)

More than likely they are low power simplex frequencies in the 700 MHz range. You wont hear them unless you are within a few blocks of them.

Not working on the old system. It is 700 MHz freq's. The old system has abandon with the exception of F-1 (154.4300) and South Jersey NET.

Correct, just like Philly's 800 MHz simplex "analog" bands. I pickup Atlantic County's EDACS system on south analog, but cant here philly units unless they are about 3 or 4 blocks from me. Rich, any chance of getting a list of the fireground frequencies?

Yes FG 1 through FG 8 are 700 MHz low power analog simplex frequencies used on the Fire ground. FG 1-4 are primary assigned to a region. FG 5-8 are for secondary use.

WIthin the next week I will be improving the feed. I will be switching to a Barix In-streamer 100 instead of the PC and add 12V UPS battery backup for both feed scanners (Camden County and PPD Citywide). Also adding a good surge protector just in time for the thunderstorm season. WIll also have no exterior antennas connected to the scanners (Inside 6 element 800 MHz. Yagi for Philly and 800 MHz rubber duck for Camden County).
