Can I configure my Uniden SDS100 to be similar to older scanners? By that I mean not using the range and location, etc?

Yes. Just program Favorites Lists and leave Location Control Off.

That said, if you are scanning ONLY the full database, you gotta program a location for the scanner to work. Otherwise nothing will turn on and be active.

When you program quick keys to be used they will work very similar to old scanners bank selection. You will have control over favorite lists and departments that you want to include or exclude from scanning and individual channels can be selected to be monitored by using number tags when scanning have been stopped.

Understanding the Memory Manage Favorites Lists After you program your favorites list(s), turn full database scanning off & turn your favorites list(s) on like so: Press Menu key: Set Scan Selection Select Lists to Monitor Full Database: Off
