I take it the Aerial was taken out of Station 2 form 6 Aerial?
With the addition of Engine 2A I assume that means there is 5 Engines available for service on the core now??
and also would Engine 2A count as the 4th Squad then?

Thanks

I haven't figured out which Aerial is at 6 yet. I'll see what happens today down here and who gets dispatched in the core.

Yes, 5 Engines directly in the core.

When Engine 2A booked on yesterday, it was for Squad duty.

That's a good possibility as I've been hearing Aerial 16 being dispatched onto catalog alarms the last couple days.

Previously, it was never dispatched.

I'll try and get out of the office today and walk by #2.

Got some shots of RED 2 (58-2714) & RED 4 (58-9912) this evening when they were returning from an AC2 on runway 34. Units responding were engine 27, 18, 4, tender 17, hazmat 4, aerial 18 and RED 1,2,3,4,5,6.

So it looks like Aerial 6 is (A0892) - 1992 E-One Hurricane / Superior / Smeal aerial (-/-/105') (SN#SE 1248) which was stationed at 2. I also noticed that there looks to be a Water Rescue in the 3rd bay at 6 as well so we'll have to listen for that. As for Engine 2A I wasn't able to see which unit it was yesterday so still in the dark.

Also, went to see a grass fire last night which had Engine 18 (Spare), Bush Buggy 18 & 21 and Tender 17 & 25 called out. Both tenders were returned prior to being on scene. I was confused with the bush Buggies though... I thought Bush 18 was a newer unit and Bush 21 was an older unit? As of last night 18 was running a yellow truck and 21 had a newer Red truck.. Sorry I wasn't able to get shop numbers.

Cheers,
John

Good catches and changes (on the Wiki firefighting page) Mr. JRPhotography!!!
Isn't a Rescue required on all AC2 calls? And has Engine 12's normal rig (E2804) back in service yet from the accident a few months ago?
,Thanks

Engine 27 is known as RED 9 when it's Air-side on an AC call.

This is previously posted information on AC calls:

All calls at the airport will initially start as an AC1. Calls will be upgraded to AC2 on discretion of the Airport Chief or Airport Captain. Any aircraft that actually crashes will be an AC3.

AC1 - response includes all Red apparatus plus 27 Pump (or closest other available pump), a city District Chief, a city Battalion Chief, and a tanker.
AC2 - above plus an extra 1 pump, 1 rescue, 1 aerial, 1 hazmat.
AC3 - above plus an extra 2 pumps and 1 tanker.

Thats great info thank you. Its interesting last night the initial call was an AC2 probably an error by dispatch but only called for RED 3 & 5 and Engine 27 & Tender 17 to Gate 10. About five minutes later it was upgraded to AC2 calling for the remainder of the ARFF units, 4 station and 18 Station.

Did you by chance hear what the issue was with the aircraft?

RED 2 came onto C13 and let Dispatch know about an incoming AC1 and upgraded to an AC2 based on fuel load. There was then one tone out to several units, (I missed most of it, but did hear Tender 17 at the end). Dispatch then came on the radio and asked if the other RED units were needed to which RED 2 replied that all Air-side units were already responding. A second tone out was then done with all other City side trucks along with RED 3 for some reason.
