I've noticed a huge shuffle in TGs for the Calgary Municipal Radio network. Getting some new IDs being used for existing channels, and existing channels being used for other purposes such as CT on CPO (48048) and backup CFD channels being used as main channels. Wondering if anyone else has noticed the same?

I have noticed this as well. This afternoon, I am picking picking up CFD dispatch on Afrrcs TG’s 5388 and 5389 but not on CMRN. I also heard an engine, didn’t catch what number, on CMRN TG 15408 using it as a tac channel. Unfortunately I don’t have the technology to do a in-depth analysis of the changes at the moment.

If someone can document changes in a submission, I can update the database ahead of the next Uniden Sentinel upload.

Nothing will change in the database until someone submits the updates, otherwise you may have to correct your own programming.

I've heard CFD on AFRRCS TG's 5388 and 5389. I did hear a dispatcher refer to 5389 as A14.
The mobile ID formats seen are 760nnn & 761nnn. The dispatch seen are 631nn.

I wondering if CFD and CPS are going to move to AFRRCS and leave CMRN for the other city services now that Telus has shutdown Mike (iDen). CPS C1-C8 are AFRRCS now I believe.

I've heard Calgary transit using "old" CPS channels on CMRN over the past few days. Seems like the channels are still enc for the most part and go un-enc for the odd transmission. Picking up CFD tac channels on CMRN (possible simulcast?), but dispatch via AFRRCS only on what was labelled as backup dispatch.

On my Whistler TRX-1 the last few days I did a search between 866.000 MHz to. 869.000. I heard CT Pub Safety Peace officers on TGID 621 but when this tgid into my database under CMRN I have not heard them on scan. But when I go back to limit search I can hear the radio traffic clear. Just curious ????

Interesting. I haven't been monitoring for a while, but I do have a scanner running with Proscan and logging.
Looks like I haven't seen C13 Dispatch since 12:42 on the 15th. (Anderson site only) Still seeing C1 C2 C5 and B2.

The talkgroups on this new system are the same description as on the analog system. The difference is that they're expressed in Motorola Decimal format on the P25 system. Divide the Type II talkgroups by 16 to get the P25 talkgroup.

Lets use your example:

Calgary Transit Public Safety and Enforcement Section Talkgroups
NextLevel.gif

DECHEXMode Alpha TagDescriptionTag
993626dDPS DispProtective Services DispatchLaw Dispatch

9936 / 16 = 621 as you reported.

Use the Windows calculator, change it from Standard to Programmer and check HEX. Put your CMRN talkgroups in to get the new talkgroups.

Can someone run Unitrunker to see what the system info is?

Wow, the Calgary stuff really confusing right now. I've been doing some searching with my 996P2 and DSD/Unitrunker.
As intelligence2008, mciupa and others have eluded, there seems to be a new system.

I'm hearing what I think is a new P25 system, but using some of the old Calgary Municipal Motorola frequencies.
Hopefully, someone who knows more about this stuff can sort it out further, as I just barely understand this stuff.

So far what I've found is, the system is BEE00-49B
Sites and control channels:
Site 001-011
866.5375
867.0375

Site 001-012
867.1125
866.6125

Site 001-013

Site 001-014

Site 001-015

Site 001-018
866.4875
867.1625

Have heard mostly Calgary Transit talkgroups in the 600s, sometimes while simultaneously hearing the same traffic on talkgroups in the 9000s on the Motorola system.
Talkgoups heard:

600
601
602
605
607
612
613
614
621 Seems to be the "missing" Transit Protective Services dispatch
622
660
1114

I’m going to re-download Unitrunker etc this week and see if I can do some digging with that so we can get this whole darn thing eventually figured out. Hearing Dispatch on one system and Tac's on another is a real pain.

Why I feel it is a new system is the HEX system ID: 49B whereas the old one is 753F

When the time is right, I can create a new CMRN (P25) trunk system and we can list both until deactivation of the old system.

OK here's all I have for control channels. No mention of site 17 in any of the peer lists.
Don't know if we can assume the site locations by the frequencies when compared to the original Motorola system.
Probably safe to assume the Transit talkgroups are staying and can be converted? The rest, hard to say.
