But, is it a Phase II capable system?

If it is capable, then we list it as P25 Phase II even if no such talkgroups are on line.

I would wager that almost all P25 systems deployed today are "capable" of Phase II. It's going to be like phones manufactured after a certain point are capable of 5G (or LTE, or etc).

Here's a sorta-related question. For users on both systems (CFD for example currently dispatch on AFRRCS, TAC on muni) is it the same radio or 2 radios?
Same with antennas. For transmitting, there's a fair difference between 770 MHz, and 868 MHz.

So far, the Transit and a few other TG's seem to track with the Muni Motorola TGs divided by 16.
Have submitted this to the DB.
Sorry, I can't seem to get the text formatted properly here.

Site 019 seems to be missing, Sites 13 15 and 16 are missing a freq unless you know something we don't :)

Most radios that can do 700 can do 800 as well, on the same antenna. My pro radio for Redwood Meadows FD, a JVCKenwood NX5000, handles everything from 763 to 870. I have AFRRCS as well as the "national" 700 and 800 interop simplex channels onboard.

So they’re using AFRRCS until the upgrade is complete? I’ve heard from sources that CPS has switched to AFRRCS permanently, they believe CFD is the same.
IMHO it would be nice to have CFD stay on AFRRCS. For me, in my location, it's a lot easier to hear. Even at the same sites that I can't really hear on Muni (Banker's for example) come in just fine on AFRRCS.

I would assume they are using the existing CMRN towers for this system. I'm picking up all but sites 13/14 and I'm in Huntington just off 14 St & 64 Ave NW. The new system seems pretty powerful.

I've picked up a couple more TG's that haven't been listed yet since I programmed this new system into my 996P2, both sounded like transit.

Picked up a few new ID's. Multiplied them by 16, most seem to add up to TG's in the old system.

ID 3231 - Unknown, encrypted (no TG in old system)
ID 3129 - Unknown, encrypted (no TG in old system)
ID 2089 - CPS, encrypted (Old system TG 33424, CPS C7 Special)
ID 1115 - AHS South Health (Old system TG 17840, maintenance)
ID 649 - Transit? Maintenance related chatter. (no TG in old system)
ID 635 - Unknown (no TG in old system)
ID 634 - Unknown (Old system TG 10144, CMRN 10144)
ID 633 - Transit PS (Old system TG 10128, PS CPIC)
ID 629 - Transit (Old system TG 10064, SprngGdnsDsl)
ID 603 - Transit (Old system TG 9648, CT Ch 4)
ID 601 - Transit (Old system TG 9616, CT Ch 1)

For the life of me, I haven't been able to get DSD+ or Unitrunker going. Been logging IDs with FreeScan for now. Looks like almost everyone but CFD is using this new system so far.

I have Unitrunker and DSD working at home on my Airpspy. For some reason, my work computer's Unitrunker no longer sees any of my RTL sticks. DSD works ok though. Very limited antenna there, but it does pick up a couple of sites.

Funny when I first started doing some searches last week, I had seen the new P25 system but because the freqs were the same as the Motorola sites, I ignored them. I should have clued in that they were P25 not Motorola when it said that right beside RSSI.

The last time that happened to me, my machine had performed a Windows Update and Windows had annihilated the drivers that zadig had put in for my RTL sticks. Try running zadig again.

Good idea, but have already done. I did use a newer Zadig. An older one might work. Seems there was something (on Reddit maybe) talking about having to change the default serial number. Will fight with it another time.

With a fresh coffee and a slightly fresher brain, and some searching in the Google Unitrunker group, I re-ran Zadig with ignore hubs or composite devices off. It found the parent device RTL2838UHIDIR instead of the bulk-in devices, and I applied the driver to it. Works fine now.
