ProScan: COM Port Issue

I am having difficult uploading to my SDS200 the programming data from ProScan (I have the most recent update on my computer). Cannot establish connection, no COM port showing up. Using Windows 11, and read somewhere that Windows 11 no longer supports COM port connections, but that is the sole method for communicating between software on computer and the radio SD card.. Last week I was able to update SDS firmware using Sentinel which found a COM port. Why is my ProScan unable to establish a communication with the scanner; I have a USB cable running to the mini USB socket on the radio.

ProScan doesn’t use the com port to read/write programming with an SDS scanner. Scanner must be in mass storage mode to do this.

If you want to use ProScan for reading & writing the favorites then put the scanner in Mass Storage mode. The SDS200 has FTP cabibilies so the FTP read & write will work too.

If you want to use ProScan for the virtual display, or logging then put the scanner in Serial Port mode (normal operation or other then Mass Storage mode)

Well this is weird from the usual "corruption" / µSD card issue I've seen here... And before we say "just replace the microSD card" - I'm not convinced that's the problem. This may take a minute to explain. Background: I simply wanted to make an edit (remove a couple of channels). I fired up...

After reading this thread I think I need to reformat my 100 card.
Without going into detail, don't matter, I want to reformat.

Using the SD Card Formatter, should I select Quick Format or Overwrite Format, please?

What's going on: running Boot Camp on a Mac laptop. Sentinel for some reason would no longer see my scanner when plugged it. The computer did, it make an aural confirmation of 'connection', but no luck w/ Sentinel. I uninstalled, re-installed, re-booted, did a whole of of things, no luck. After reading this thread this is my last hope, for things that I can accomplish. I'm mildly competent with computers, but if the tech knowledge gets much deeper to resolve this issue I'll need outside help.
