Can anyone id this control channel type?
I attempted to id CC using the Digital Samples page listed in the Wiki. But my computer has been act like a fruitcake during playback. Frequency the signal is heard on is 866.1125 and my location is East Central Alabama. Unitrunker refuses to decode the signal.
Thanks for any assistance.

Well the audio file is too large to attach, so if anyone wants to try and id the signal I will e-mail the file to them.

That's the site I mentioned in the 1st post. The samples that I can playback don't sound like the signal I recorded. But so far I have listened to just a few of the samples because my computer is being a pain in the butt and won't play the other samples. The computer is infested with "gremlins".

Hi Steve:

I did a search of Alabama and the surrounding states, and this is what I found:

Alabama - City of Birmingham (WPZE311)
Georgia - MARTA (WQCN601).
Mississippi - Hancock county (WQGN490).
Florida - Miami-Dade County (WPGD547 & WPGD549), Orlando (WNXS401), and Seminole County (WPGT614)
Tennessee - Nothing.

All of these folks have trunked systems. Is it possible that it could be ducting in to your location from out of state, but the signal is weak enough that Unitrunker won't decode it?

Take care,

Warren

Frank, that is the site I used but due to the computer acting up I have been able to listen to only a few of the recorded samples.
Warren, I usually hear the signal when I can hear the Atlanta area CCs and when I hear the 866.1125 signal it pegs the signal strength meter on my radio. I had searched the frequency using the FCC search tools and got the results you did.
I was hoping someone could compare the recording to the samples I can't get to work on my computer. The samples I can listen to are: the Motorola Type 2, the EDACS 9600, and the MPT1327. I believe my computer problem to be Windows Media Player related.

I posted this information in the Trunking Forum orginally because I believe it be not just Alabama related.
