• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hoping someone can help. Astro portable CPS V 20.01.00, I have been able to program an XTS 5000 VHF radio just fine with ham repeater frequencies and one P25 repeater, this radio was FPP enabled, tested everything works great. My issue is with a UHF and a 900 Mhz versions.First a low UHF XTS 5000 model H18QDF9PW6AN, it should be able to program ham frequencies and I was able to get one UHF simplex frequency, 446.52000 saved in the code plug, but if I try to add a second frequency (even doing the simplex frequency again to test) adding a channel defaults to receive 403.02500 and transmit 378.02500 (which is in red outline since it is outside of the models band split, I can edit them and it will accept the entries and the red outline disappears. Example 443.15000 changes transmit to 418.15000, and I edited to 448.15000. I close and try to save and I get invalid fields box, show it and its transmit frequency, but going to it there is nothing in red or tagged that I can see. I have the same issue with the XTS 2500 for 900 MHz, I can get one entry using a modified pat port.exe but any others give that same type error I see on UHF. A friend flashed an XTS 1500 I have and I can save that initial code plug just fine but if I edit it, it comes back with the same invalid field box with no apparent error I can see on transmit frequency.

Any ideas my head hurts from banging it on my desk.

since you have one that was fine until you put it on your cps, sounds like maybe that CPS setting, picklist or whatever it was in the Options/cps settings, try turning that off if its on

Thank you the offset in the option fixed it.

You need to set your off-set frequency setting by going to the Frequency Options and set your freq options to ZERO or whatever you want the transmit freq box to populate with when you enter a receive freq. Currently, your Frequency Options must be set for a minus 35 Megs. In the CPS, click on the "View" Tab, click on "options", click on the "Frequency Options" tab, and in the "Offset (MHz)" box, enter your setting value, and click "OK"
