I heard that tg sometime in the past, my note said it sounded like training. Maybe an academy talkgroup. In fact just pulled it up and a unit asked for a scenario. Shortly later they dispatched a scenario 2.

It was just identified over the air as Dallas County Training 1.

Was out towards Terrell today doing some research on another radio system, and for a brief while picked up NTIRN site 3.52 on 770.09375 with a NAC of 442. It reported Dallas Layers 1 and 2 as neighbors (and on the way back in town I saw it was showing as a neighbor to the Dallas Layer 1 site) Couldn't gather much more data since it was a weak signal to begin with.

Looks like it is one of the water department facilities East of the Metroplex.

Its Dallas Water Utilities. There are supposed to be Two Channels at Fork and two other facilities. When I last spoke with my contact they weren't supposed to be trunked or tie into the full system. Supposed to be localized to the facility only. But it's Dallas so 'supposedly' means about as much as 'America declares war on UFO's' ...

I greatly appreciate all of the work that is being done by my fellow listeners to map Dallas PD/FD, etc.

I will be heading through Dallas tomorrow. I am going to throw the dice and place the talk groups for DPD under both layers. I hope this works out. If not, it will be a learning experience.

At least DPD is allowing access to talk channels unlike Houston PD. I am keeping my fingers crossed on Dallas SO.

I heard some activity from different talk groups this afternoon.

36096 - There was a loud test alert that said something about a box number. This is probably another Lancaster Fire talk group.

Dallas PD seems like it is finally testing out its talk groups. These are the three talk groups that were active today:

31011 - Central Dispatch
31021 - Northeast Dispatch
31071 - South Central Dispatch

Sounds like they are bringing the Dispatch Consoles online. Elements are still simulcast.

Personally Northeast dispatch sounds horrible compared to SW and Central. Good to finally hear them live!

Picked up Dallas PD southeast patrol dispatch. As well as TGID 35085 which sounded like law enforcment. They gave an address and talked about a warrant there.

Saw a lot of encrypted talkgroups being used today. Many already listed in the database, but also some new ones. Also saw encrypted activity on TG 7897 and TG 7833, Radio IDs were all in the 50 mill. range and at some point in the past I noted a couple RIDs as Attorney General, probably heard them on a Interop TG.

Unknown Encrypted TGs

DFR Channel 1 and 2 have patches onto NTIRN. Channel 1 (453.875) and Channel 2 (453.9) are on Fire 1 and 2 respectively. They have new tones they've been using on both channels. Its hard to describe but the UHF feed "sounds trunked." I don't know what it's called but it has that muffle before they talk that can be heard on trunked channels sometimes

On Unitrunker DFR Channel 2 is showing RID 7000802 and DFR Channel 3 is showing RID 7000803 , so I think these are the actual consoles showing to be Online, with the patch being made to the old analog system. The apparatus radios, and the like, are showing talk group 0, that indicates they are patched from the analog to the P25 system. There is still testing on the auto dispatch locution channel from time to time.

Is DFR fulltime on the trunk now? Heard them working a small structure fire tonight without the gateway sqwak.

Definitely neither DFR or DPD are fully using the system yet.

DFR is only patching DFR 1 and DFR 2 to the system. It appears most of the consoles are on the NTIRN as they display UIDs most of the time. Same with DPD. I did see/hear a few DFR transmissions on Thursday where a unit in the field would show a UID on the NTIRN system, leading me to believe they may be slowly beginning to transition to the system. So far, no DPD field elements showing UIDs when they transmit.

Also, not all DPD patrol districts are patched yet. I've only seen Central, SE, NE, NC and SC so far.

Hoping they will bring the Locution dispatch onto the system soon as well.
