• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

I’m trying to setup a SmartConncect profile. Under my data profile type, only trunking and conventional are showing up. From my understanding, it is supposed to show broadband only, trunking & broadband, and conventional & broadband. Any idea why it’s not showing those options?

Nothing to do with your question, but how do you plan on using SmartConnect? Are you connected to a core that supports it?

That's what it is supposed to look like. You create one for trunking or conventional, populate it with the correct data like your SmartConect gateway, etc. You will also need a security certificate loaded in the radio in addition to provisioning on the core. You got all that, right?

Yes, I have everything I need to connect. It does connect and work if I set it to trunking, but I only want the data profile to use broadband only, not trunking.

Yes, I have all of the information and it does work if I set it to trunking. It has shown those options on other radios, but we can’t figure out why it doesn’t show it on mine.

Your in the wrong location. To change the setting you need to go to your personality - features....

The data section is only where you set your wifi info and put in the Broadband Gateway address
Thanks for the help. I am aware of that option, but it didn't do exactly what I wanted. I was able to figure it out with some more research; to enable the feature I was talking about, you need GA09011 Third Party Data Modem Tethering in the flash.

OK. I guess I missread what your trying to do. Not one of my 8000 or 8500 have that in the flash and all work on SC just fine. It appears your trying to force data over to wifi.
This is exactly what I wanted to do. My smartconnect worked just fine without that in the flash, but I want all of the data to go over WiFi and only audio on RF.

We use SC, so I understand what you're saying, I am curious though, why all data over wifi? What happens if you're OOR for wifi?
What kind of data
