Mike_s104... any scanner, any files...share what you have.

Take a look at the bottom of the CHM temp page - I built links into the database for almost every agency that was mentioned in the newsletter. It's not complete, sadly - we didn't have an entry for everything, and at least in 1 case (media), not everything in the newsletter is in the db - but it's a good start.

Break down and buy a subscription. Use one of the apps that connects to the database, and at least some of your typing will be done for you

I put everything from the CHM that was not in the RRDB into ARCx96. I'll copy it to an Excel and post it later today or tonight.

There was a roll call on DCIO1 (159.15) at 10AM this morning. It was patched with DC FD C5 UCC1 (tg 2656) and an unknown Montgomery talkgroup.
This was followed by a roll call on DCIO2 (168.875). This was patched with Montgomery 75C B14 PS#2 (tg 1648)

Mike_s, don't forget the other frequencies...ITAC, VTAC, UTAC, FRS/GMRS (though I suspect these will be almost unusable with the number of people trying to use them), Marine, MURS and Railroad. On the temp page, they are linked in the wiki section.

[edit] Interesting that they patched the Montgomery system, Jeff. One to be added to the list, I think. Here is the db entry

I'm hearing "motorboating" on 159.15, on my Pro-106.
I have mode set up as "auto".

Is this normal?

Mike please also post your ARCx96 files. The latest version of FreeScan can import this data directly; however users are warned to check the trunking results carefully. Not all the data in the .mem file had been translated to FreeScan's format, so some additional manipulation will be needed.

As always be sure to check your system and group quick keys and insure they are active/disabled as desired

I'll post the RRDB files and what I made from the PDF as well as putting everything into an Excel spreadsheet so anyone can import into numerous apps.

what website can you download freescan?

You can get it from http://scannow.org/

The user manual is hosted in our wiki at:

http://wiki.radioreference.com/index.php/FreeScan_User_Guide

Unfortunately FreeScan cannot import .csv files (nor can Win96, unless formatted in a specific way) so that's something of an issue - unless someone wants to step up and build these files.

I think BCTool (also freeware) can import .csv files, however, so that's a possible option for folks with the Uniden DMA scanners

http://www.bctool.org/

Be sure to get the beta version - it's pretty decent, and reasonably stable

This question is liable to come up, so I might as well handle it now...

While BCTool can record, its support is limited to the Uniden DMA scanners. ID Tracker (and it's brother, ID Tracker 2) handles a much broader list of scanners - and since much is digital in this area, that's where I'll concentrate the comments...

a. The original ID Tracker works with the BC250, 296, 785 and 796
b. ID Tracker 2 works with the PSR500 and 600, PRO-106, 197, BC396 and 996

Both are available from

http://bellsouthpwp.net/k/d/kd5eis/IDTracker/IDTracker.htm

and are freeware. Of course, if you are using one of the packages that already records, you're all set.... 73 Mike

I don't know whether it was the ATT that fixed your problem (most likely), or the use of NAC for Squelch Mode.

On my Pro-106, I have have entered all VHF high band frequencies (150-170 MHz band) (analog and digital) with ATT turned on, because of the radio's hot front end.

And for all conventional frequencies that are digital (listed in the CHM newsletter as "Astro" for the squelch code) I have used NAC for the Squelch Mode.

Be sure to watch the Sticky Thread for Milcom IV in the Maryland forum for up to date Milcom - and even a little Customs - reports.

I'll look at this more closely but there's one error in the newsletter that's easy to fix. 139.9 is really the DC ANG Supervisor of Flight freq, callsign SENATE. Please make the change in your files. 73 Mike
