AFAIK those are correct, Jeff. Fortunately it's easy to fix the tables if it's wrong As he has it there, it would be set up the following way;

ch lo/ch hi/offset/base freq/step

73 Mike

Thank you Jeff and Mike.

I fixed the tables for MPD and reuploaded it.

I'm glad I'm no where near DC

Looks like the screen shot was just after the concert.

If this is an indication of how Tuesday is going be, I am really glad I'm not going to be anywhere near DC.

I was listening to the some of the EMS units on "Gators" that were trapped in the crowds. They could not get to the injured person.....nor could they go back out of the crowd.

If there is any kind of incident....not just a major incident....it will be very bad.

Get him/her in here, Stavro. There's no reason to be shy about it. We don't byte ... er bite, really :D

In any case, if all that person is using is a duckie, I highly doubt it. If that person has an antenna like a discone or Scantenna, maybe - IF s/he isn't clobbered by intermod issues, and IF s/he has a clear shot toward DC (no big buildings, ect.) then MAYBE. Many sections of Baltimore county are rife with pagers, Taxi services (not known for their spectral purity) and several sections have AM or FM station antennas - not a great recipe for a clean RF environment.

Unfortunately the 95 isn't milcom capable - I suspect there will be quite a lot of mil aircraft up and about on Tuesday.

Sorry to disappoint, but reality bytes...er, bites...sometimes 73 Mike

DHS Doc Prepared for Pesidential Inauguration

Thought it would be interesting reading for those that will be following the activities of the Presidential Inauguration in Wash DC. Prepared by DHS, this makes a perfect adjunct for those that will monitor the radio communications leading up to Tuesday Jan 20th.

I'm occasionally hearing DC FD dispatch engine companies with numbers in the 50s and 60s.
Are these spare units that are temporarily manned, or units from Federal facilities, or something else?

Those are extra companies placed in service for the weekend, there are extra EMS units as well.

Also, my scanner is now feeding through Incident Broadcast (www.incidentbroadcast.com). It's in a good spot in Foggy Bottom, and ive got it programmed up with MPD, Park Police and Federal channels. You can use Teamspeak to listen, or simply listen through Icecast using Windows Media Player. I am amazed myself at how good the audio sounds through the Icecast server.

Inaugural Feed

(Sorry if this is a duplicate)

DC has extra companies in service for the weekend, both EMS and fire.

Also, I have put an inaugural feed up broadcasting from Foggy Bottom in DC that can be heard through www.incidentbroadcast.com. You can either use Teamspeak to listen, or the more simple Icecast which uses windows media player. I have MPD, Park Police as well as some Federal Interop channels in the mix currently.

This is my ARCSOFT (gr5) file It has most of the frequencies that have been posted in this thread the CHM newsletter as well as many from the DB. There are only a few Mil Air freqs. in it. I am using a BC-895 for that.
From my location on the Broadneck peninsula I am able to copy the VHF 16x-17x channels. So far nothing on 4xx UHF. I do have a discone at about 20 feet.

Also includes
AACO, Balt City, Balt Co, Montgomery, Howard, Fairfax, Arlington, Alexandria, USNA 380, DC Fire 800 and DC Police 450.

Change the extension to gr5 from txt.

yup
DCFD will be distributing 60 radios to 'navigators' for FEMA units (or for "navigators" for mutual aid units).

There seemed to be some confusion as to whether the radios were supposed to go to "FEMA" units or "mutual aid" units - possibly the FEMA units were the same as the "mutual aid" units.

A gr5 file is the type created with Arcsoft, the BuTel software.

Here is the Starr Soft file. Again change the extension from txt to p500
