Low modulated chatter on TG-3 today, mostly open mic
I've been wondering what this is....been going on for a while and there are usually multiple people discussing things, but all one RID...was wondering of they had some kind of gateway in place patched to the talkgroup? Sometimes it seems open mic-ish, but other times intentional traffic. I don't know.
Does anyone know the current Control Channel? I have not been able to receive it for a few days. In the area of 926 and 352.

I’ll finally get a chance to see what I can hear “live”. I’ll be passing through the 20 on Saturday morning and again Monday afternoon doing the dreaded 476-95 loops. I’ll need to remember to lock out whatever that test TG is when I program the SDS100 on Friday. I’ll be driving and set the recording so I won’t be able to unstick it if it’s stuck on that TG in a round of testing.

Heard that long tone on TG 3 a few times the other day (think it was Saturday). I'm assuming it has something to do with testing.

I didn't think so. I don't know why a single (logical) site simulcast system would be transmitting a control channel on two separate channels at the same time. Maybe some type of testing, timing or alignment going on and not really two control channels.
They seem to be prioritizing testing on PD Sector 7 today after yesterday's incident @ VU
Was there sort sort of communications failure or inadequacy wrt to the incident yesterday at VU? Are you suggesting they are re-evaluating the new system's coverage there in case it needs enhancement?
I'm not at liberty to speculate the "why". Perhaps it's nothing but a mere coincidence they're testing here...
