My FMP24-CC.bat file already had the -rc in it. I thought that had to be in there to make it do trunk following at in the first place. Here's what's in the file:

FMP24 -rc -i1 -o20001 -f770.33125 -wsl0.-1 -g33.8 -b-12.5 -P.5

So, does this mean that by having anything at all in the FMP24.ScanList file, it's going to mess up the trunktracking?

If you are scanning, you are not role control channel. I think that's pretty straight forward.

Scanning works fine if you are just looking for an active centralized control channel, but it's not going to work on a system that rotates control channels, like Cap+, NXDN-D, etc.

What exactly does your FMP console say?

Here's what I get when I run FMP24-CC.bat:

I have a separate directory for each system I monitor.
Sounds like pointless over-complication.

The scanlist for FMP24 tells the program where to look if the control channel is lost, or provides a list of frequencies to scan in Scan mode. Having frequencies from a number of different systems in the list when trying to monitor a specific system seems counterproductive.
No, scan lists aren't required for trunking, certainly not with the fast lane versions. If you're combining fast lane with a scan list to do trunking, you're doing it wrong.

No. You'd use the scan list for conventional (analog or digital) monitoring only. The list does nothing unless you turn on scanning in FMP24, and why would you do that while you're trunk tracking?

Fell free to copy over a log file instead of a screen shot. Also, please rename your fmp frequency file so we don't have to look through all of that crap.

Need to see what the FMP console says while DSD is giving those lost control channel messages. Also, look in the directory to see if there are .control files adding up.

On other matters, using the scanlist works great to identify and scan trunked systems if they have a centralized control channel (P25, NXDN-C, Connect+, etc.).

I also use a different directory for different systems or projects. I think it's the best way to do it.

Well, I don't turn on scanning while trunktracking. I mean, I have a scanlist file in the same directory, but I don't turn on scanning.

And sorry, I don't understand about renaming the fmp frequency file. Why? What do I re-name it to?

The frequency file isn't hurting you, but if you want others to review your console log, it's annoying to have to sift through all of the licenses. Just rename it or change the file name in the config file so it won't load the frequency data. Then once you get everything working, change the file back.

Repost more of the log.

What type of system are you trying to follow? I thought you were working on Cap+, but what you just posted is P25.

So how do I create a log file? Which one of these am I supposed to log:

FMP24-CC.bat
FMP24-VC.bat
CC.bat
VC.bat?

And I guess I'll have to add back the "-q1" to make it screw up again.

Both programs log by default, I believe. You have to add a command line switch to tell them not to create logs.

Look for the .event files in your DSDPlus directory.

I see the .event files, but there's also the >file or >> file command line arguments and I believe those create a different log file. So I could do 4 different log files, 2 for DSD+ and the other 2 for FMP24.

Your problem is probably with the -rc copy of FMP24.

You want to >>LogforThread.txt to the end of your startup line for -rc FMP24.

I am unsure why you would add something that doesn't work.

Confirm, what system are you trying to scan? You need to either start FMP24 or type into FMP24 a frequency on the Cap+ system if you want it to follow Cap+.

It's a Cap+ system with the following:

Cap+, 9996, 1, 1, 452.875, 0.0, 0
Cap+, 9996, 1, 3, 451.975, 0.0, 0
Cap+, 9996, 1, 5, 452.975, 0.0, 0

I will go ahead and add back the "-q1" into the FMP24-CC.bat file and record a log from that instance of FMP24.

Well FMP is listening and doing as directed.

Why are you launching it on channel 3 instead of channel 1?

There's no particular reason. Why does that matter? This system is a slow system with little activity. So sometimes the rest channel won't change for a while. If I happen to know which RF frequency the rest channel is on, I'll start DSD+ there to get it trunktracking sooner.

But regardless, I get the same problem on any Cap+ system if I have "-q1" in the command line. Removing "-q1" seems to make it work right right.

Okay, then what's the point? It's working. Good for you.

Why do you even have something with -q in it? -q isn't even in the FMP.txt documentation.

Good day.

The point is when I first started this thread, I couldn't figure out the problem. Then I lucked out and figured it out. I was only answering your questions after that. And I have a file called "Notes.txt" that says:

"FMP24 v2.11

Support for AM demodulation has been added.

Use the D key to switch between AM and FM demodulation modes.

Squelch logic has been added.

Use -q1 on the command line to enable squelch.

Press Q to enable/disable squelch."

You should set squelch only when scanning.

When DSD+ is directing the tuner to a specific frequency, you want it to listen come hell or high water. You wouldn't want a squelch threshold to prevent DSD+ from getting data to decode.

I am happy for you that it is working well.
