Hello. Does anyone use DSD+ Fast Lane? What is your latest version? Mine is 2.395, and I haven't received any updates for six months. When I emailed them asking if there might be an issue with my license, such as it expiring, nobody has responded to me until today.

2.395 is the latest version, released July 19, 2022. Yes, it's been ages, unfortunately.

How long after you sent the email did you get a response? There are various claims from folks here stating they never received responses to their inquiries at all. Welcome to the RR forums

Seems like it's been mothballed.
I recommend you try DSD-FME.
It could use a little more development, but it has more functionality.

I tried contacting the author a few days back but no response yet.

I am getting this error ( FMPx link protocol error / incompatible DSD+/FMPx versions ).

I am using two RTL-SDR dongles, using DSD+ 2.395 and FMP24 2.81.
I am running FMP24-CC.bat, CC.bat, FMP24-VC.bat and VC.bat.

Checking for updates says I am running the latest version, and I have downloaded the DSDPlusBaseFiles.zip.

And yet I am getting this error.

You say "until today". that suggests that you did get a response. If you did, what was the response? That way none of the rest of us need bother emailing.

If you are getting the incompatible version error, then you are likely using an old version of FMP/FMP24/FMPA etc.

Launch DSD+, click on Misc and select Download Newest Base Files.

I'm not knocking it. I have never tried it, and the author seems to be making great progress with it. But, do you really think it has more "functionality" than DSDPlus? I mean DSDPlus will properly trunktrack NXDN48/NXDN96/DMR TII/TIII/P25 P1/II systems. Does DSD-FME really do all of that?

It certainly does have some great features, and if not "the whole package" it does have some that DSDPlus does not. Plus, It is in current development so new features will be added and other will be fixed. By now it is going in the right direction
On the other hand - I don't think comparing them is the right thing to do. Yeah, they both are dedicated to decode but they both had different strategies in developing the features
At least DSD-FME is the newcomer who everyone needed where DSDPlus is there for years. Not to mention that DSDPlus has gone silent. So far they do sell but they do not develope.

Apologies, that's what I get for reading on my phone.

Try just a simple test.. Open up two command prompts in your DSDPlus folder. Launch FMP24..

fmp24 -o7777 -f155.0 (or whatever port you want to use), then launch DSDPlus..
dsdplus -i7777

Do you still get the error?

Fmp24 2.81 and DSDPlus 3.95 or the latest. Can you try launching and post screenshots of the error?

On the other hand - I don't think comparing them is the right thing to do.

Maybe I should change the name so people will stop trying to draw comparisons .

Don't think that's possible at all
It's in the people's nature to compare in searching for a perfect solution. One to rule them all! Too bad such thing does not exist!
It's not the name that has to be changed, it's the temptation to compare you have to resist!

From the dawn of time DSD stands for digital speech decoder. All of the following software that uses the source code added something in order to reach its goal and the final product always ended with a name like DSDxxx. That became something like a standard and 'xxx' is there to differentiate different pieces of software that were based over a similar idea but designed differently This is something everyone should know just to be able to get the right piece of software and to be able to differentiate one from another.

It means the audio is not encrypted. If there was encryption AND you didn't have the group locked out, it would show the type of encryption and the key number (not the actual key but the key number)

If a new version of DSD+FL never happens, I feel that I have received FAR beyond the $25 I paid for lifetime updates. It is absolutely one of the cornerstones of my radio monitoring, standalone with FPMA and in conjunction with SDR#. As has happened historically, when and if there is a need to update, I'll wager they'll come along and do so. If not, to me that's fine too.

I have looked at the DSD-FME version but time hasn't allowed me to do anything yet with it. I applaud anyone that has the know-how to expand on this, this is I think the future of scanning. This, OP25, SDRTrunk, UniTrunker, all incredible accomplishments and contributions to the radio hobbyist community.

I think that even if you spend $25 on DSD+FL today and there is never another update, you are getting your money's worth and more.
