What is a "direct link or TCP Link"?

It's just that. Its a direct link between Fmp tuners and DSDPlus where as when you use sdr# to feed DSDPlus, your sending everything over a virtual cable. Any noise on there or the levels not being set right, that could yield poor decodes.

What does the error message "DSD+ single receiver mode requires a FMPA/FMPP/FMP24 link" mean?

Before you ask the question, please read notes.txt and dsdplus.txt multiple times, and familiarize yourself with the various .bat and .cfg files.

It means it is expecting you to be running FMP24, or FMPP, or FMPA to monitor the frequency, and piping the info over direct link to DSDPlus.

You really need to do some reading.

fooling around with bat & cfg files can lead to unintended consequences even to the best read

It's part of the hobby, and the learning experience. Can't tell you how many times I mess up my files. One thing I learned, always make backups of files before making changes.

That‘s why they advice you in the txt files to keep a back-up!

As a not native speaker in English, the DSDplus text files are not ‘the most easy to read‘. However they contain a lot of vital information to get DSDplus FL running.

Also, the RR Forum search is helpful. Unless it is something that is new and being tested, most issues have been discussed before.

OK, Finally got back to this and have a screenshot - it shows the error for both the CC and the VC. The versions used are FMP24 2.81 and DSDPlus 2.395.

I don't know much about using 2 dongles as I use single dongle mode exclusivly, but @Forts suggested a simple test for you to try.

Try just a simple test.. Open up two command prompts in your DSDPlus folder. Launch FMP24..

fmp24 -o7777 -f155.0 (or whatever port you want to use), then launch DSDPlus..
dsdplus -i7777

Do you still get the error?

Also, even tho your image in FMP24 shows a PPM correction of 34 and a half, your signal is still not on frequency.

What was all that about? Must have missed it.

Someone was asking for help with that version a while back and stated they downloaded it off the web. Another member (who will chime in if he wishes) reached out to the guy who had it on the web and it was removed but it was available while.

There was a version that was inadvertently sent out without needing the unzip key and with no user name flag. It has been replaced several times over. However, that version was grabbed and gets uploaded every now and then in various locations.

Likely the reason why we haven’t seen a new version in so long. And if that were the reason, I can’t blame the author at all. Honestly, the author probably has a version with many more features, fixes, etc and it might never see the light of day

You only have to look through the various threads here and perhaps see how the inability of people to follow directions, demanding instant replies, or complaining about something not working perfectly with other programs would make most want to quit or take a long break.
