Is all of the Oakland PD traffic simulcast on the EBRCs system yet or are they still only testing the system.

If they haven't fully switched over, anyone know approximately how far the Oakland repeater reaches for Oakland PD/FD? Could you hear it across the bay from somewhere like Palo Alto or does it not really reach far? I know the Oakland system is horrific but wondering how far out you can pick it up.

Well, you can try monitoring just the ALCO NW cell and see how well you can hear it from your location. That is the primary cell for Oakland

Oakland PD/FD has not switched over to EBRCS yet. They are still on the Harris system and use EBRCS as a backup for now. Piedmont PD is off the Harris system and on EBCRS full time

I doubt you'll be able to hear EBRCS ALCO NW from Palo Alto but you can give it a try. It doesn't come in very well further south in Hayward.

and unless your antenna is high above the foliage, the NW site signal is very inconsistent

I talked to a tech from Harris and he said that if you use a GPS antenna like the Uniden BC-GPSK GPS
a scanner will work on LSM system. He said that in order to receive simulcast system's on a scanner you need a GPS antenna. I haven't tried that so I don't know if what he said is true or not. Does that make sense ?

That may be the case with Harris equipment but the GPS input on a scanner is just to help identify what the local systems are out of the radio's database.

I have struggled with this and talked with Scanner Master and Wilson at Dayton and the recommendation was to use a directional antenna and an attenuator and point the antenna away from the site you are trying to avoid. Initial testing this weekend indicates that this may actually work.

Monitoring the EBRCS system primarily from San Leandro, I'd have to agree with at least the first two recommendations. I suspect that where you point your antenna is governed by your specific location.

Whistler TRX-1 and -2 on EBRCS

Does anyone have experience with the new Whistler scanners on the EBRCS system? I know it is a long shot but I am hoping for some better simulcast decoding compared to my Uniden 536 and GRE 600 scanners.

I have Oakland PD programmed into scanner per Sentinel but I never hear them even wen I'm in the car in Oakland? So this is the reason why I don't receive them?

I can hear oakland pd clear and I'm in san pablo/richmond I'm using uniden bcb436hp

Does anyone know if the AMR Dispatch has stopped on the EBRACS system ? I used to hear traffic on that talk group can anyone help with an answer

I am located in North Richmond and use the Coco West simulcast but I have the whole system on my WS 1088 handheld and travel quite a bit around the area so it switches to different sites I am sometimes on the Alco Northwest site when I programmed EBRCS I am clued it all the sites available just in case I travel to another part of the system area

Ok sound like you have it programmed correctly to monitor. Some talk groups are site specific that's why I asked your location. Trip? Are you monitoring this thread? Are you getting any traffic on 5551?

AMR Distatch on EBRCS

I have recently started monitoring the thread because of my issue with not hearing the AMR dispatch as I used to I did monitor 5551 yesterday afternoon I heard no traffic after several calls for medical response on Richmond fire department I will again try to monitor 5551 today

I listen to ACMED / EMS on 5530 Alco SW site. Maybe they are merged?
