Listening to ALCO SW cell last night, heard law enforcement traffic on Interop 5 with radio IDs of
6009xxx. Any idea what agency this may be?

Were any locations given?

I heard one reference to "92". Assuming he was crossing the San Mateo Bridge. They were looking for one specific subject at a known location. They eventually went to "channel 2" but I didn't hear them...maybe on another system. I'm thinking off hand maybe US Marshalls, State Parole, something like that. This all went down around 10:00 last night.

Hm. Interesting I'll have to look at my logs. Looks like those radios only affiliated with that talk group. Ill have to listen to them.

On July 1, San Ramon PD discontinued services with the Sheriff's Office for dispatch services. They now have a joint dispatch center with San Ramon Valley Fire. I can't monitor them from my home, so does anyone know what talk groups San Ramon PD are now using on the central site?

I'm guessing 7555 but can someone confirm.

Might have answered my own question. Looked at my logs and only 7556 which is listed as ch 2 has been active.

Does anyone have experience with the new Whistler scanners on the EBRCS system? I know it is a long shot but I am hoping for some better simulcast decoding compared to my Uniden 536 and GRE 600 scanners.

Thanks,

Art

I have a TRX-2 and it does a great job on EBRCS.

Info is right under the Alameda Co Sheriff Talk groups header

Alameda Co Sheriff Talkgroups

Dispatch 1 - Eden Township

Dispatch 2 - Dublin/AC Transit/Oakland Airport

OK, but which dispatch TGID is it? There are 3 dispatch numbers.

The one listed as Dispatch 2

Dispatch 2 - Dublin/AC Transit/Oakland Airport

Thanks, it's just that the DB isn't very clear.

First it says:
Dispatch 1 - Eden Township
Dispatch 2 - Dublin/AC Transit/Oakland Airport

Then it has:
3705 e79 D ACSO Disp 1 Sheriff Dispatch 1 Law Dispatch
3707 e7b D ACSO Disp 2 Sheriff Dispatch 2 Law Dispatch
3709 e7d D ACSO Disp 3 Sheriff Dispatch 3 Law Dispatch

Looked to me like Dispatch 2 was in charge of all those talk groups, and dispatch 1 was empty, would be more clear if Dispatch 3 was also listed above the table. But that's just my inexperience with the DB and talkgroups. Conventionals are easier to understand.

Question, there are 8 site frequencies that populated in my scanner list, do I need them all, or can I remove all except the closest antenna to my location?
Do I need 1 of each: ALCO and CCCO, or they're the same thing just in different counties?

I'm not sure i understand the confusion. I want to make sure it's clear so others don't have the same problem. I haven't had anyone mention an issue before, so i want to get it right.

"Dispatch 1 - Eden Township" means, Dispatch 1, in the talk group below it, covers Eden Township. Just as "Dispatch 2 - Dublin/AC Transit/Oakland Airport" means, Dispatch 2, in the talk group below it, covers those areas. Does that make sense?

Thanks for trying, yeah I got it in your last reply, but the confusion came from the fact that there are only 2 dispatch sub headings or whatever you want to call them above the table, and there are 3 dispatch TGIDs. If the 3rd dispatch is unknown, better to just say so, but don't delete it outright.

EBRCS is location specific. What that means is, Site CCCO Central covers only that area, Central Contra Costa County. You wouldn't be able to hear talk groups that associate with that site on CCCO West, as a general rule. I say general rule because you are allowed to "roam" on the system as a user. Sometimes it happens sometimes it doesnt'. Most of the time they don't.

For example, on CCCO Central site, a San Ramon PD unit would be able to roam in the next closest geographic area (site neighbors) and still be able to maintain radio contact with their home talk groups even thought their primary site is CCCO Central

So the answer to your question is, you should at minimum program your home area, CCCO Central and I would also suggest ALCO East. You wouldn't hear ALCO Northwest or ALCO Southwest because those sites do not cover your geographical area. Same with CCCO West and CCCO East. Under each agency, the primary site is listed to give you an idea of who talks on what site.

And you would only need the control channels of each site.

OK thank you.
I'll set it to CCCO Central, ALCO E, and ALCO SE because in addition to my house, I want to be able to tune in to dublin, pleasanton and livermore PDs along 580 where I drive.

Why am I hearing conversations on these sites that sound very nasal, glottal?
Is my antenna too low in the frequency range low VHF (CHP 39-46MHz) or is it the type of radio system or the mics?

I hear Oakland PD listening to CCCC central site.

That's because CCCO C is a neighbor with ALCO NW. When someone in CCCO C affiliates with one of the Oakland talkgroups, it is then rebroadcast on the CCCO C sites.

This is NOT typical and isnt normal operation.
