5th site added to CCC West ??

The March version of EBRCSA Newsletter states that the Cummings site has been added to the CCC West.

http://www.ebrcsa.org/SitePDFs/EBRCSA Newsletter March 2012.pdf

I had heard this when I was in the area two weeks ago from a reliable source, also driving highway 4 and listening, I noticed a good signal most of the way to Martinez.

I think what they did was scrap the Crockett site and use the equipment on Cummings but with an antennae configuration that favors the Crockett 7 Port Costa area.

That sounds accurate. The current project status matrix shows the Crockett site "On hold pending Cummings West." As long as Cummings provides adequate coverage, Crockett will be scrapped.

Except that one line after that, Fire Station 53 is noted as "May not be required. Under review. I'd guess if Crockett site had a similar status, it would be indicated as such? Who knows, really?

Crockett is geographically challenged - down that steep hill and sort of protected by a three-sided valley. I mean, look where Cummings Peak is in relation to Crockett... Cummings near North Peak, Contra Costa, CA - Google Maps - also, there is a hint of coverage issues on Motorola's coverage talk-in maps, even with the Crockett site included. Wonder what that coverage map would look like without Crockett?

... just thinking out loud.

I think Fire Station 53 is listed that way because it has been a question mark from the beginning. If you look at the newsletters, Crockett was listed as pending "site improvements" until February, when the status switched to TBD. Fire Station 53 has always been listed as TBD.

Also on the project status matrix dated 1-04-2012, the Crockett site was listed as as pending a "contract for work." In the meantime Cummings Peak was added to the CoCo West Simulcast Cell, and the status switched to "On hold pending Cummings West." Just explaining my reasoning.

Can anyone confirm use of encryption on 7510 (Richmond PD Tac 2)?

I received a submission for it, but want to confirm.

Thanks

ConFire West (159.7350) is currently simulcasting onto EBRCS on TG 6313 on the CoCo Central Simulcast. At last receive, a radio ID of 0 (zero) was shown...

Question: when is the appropriate time to create submissions for these? It seems that previous simulcasts (Richmond Fire) have wound up being the permanent TG.

Create a submission any time a confirmation has been made in usage.

If it changes use after that to something else, we can't just change it again :)

And when/where is the April newsletter? It's almost June.

Yeah site must have been hungry.

Was gonna ask if you caught any Motorola radio IDs?
