I find it odd as I ran pro96com this morning that site 104(Alco NW) is the only site that isn't affiliating with Alco East. Same info as reflected on your report..

If the system was in full operation, I would think it odd. But while a system is being constructed / tested, there are any number of reasons why this could be happening. The first reason that comes to mind is that the link back to the core switch may be not be operating.

Your master site
They've updated the project status as of Jan 4th.

East Bay Regional Communications System Authority

Still no January newsletter though.
With the exception of the fill-in sites at the end, for those that are wondering, the "Prime" indicator is the main site in a simulcast (sub)network where the voted receive signals are sent for comparison (i.e., voted on).

Heard some interesting testing on ALCO East Simulcast this morning using TG 54321. A male and a female were reading sentences from a novel. This must have been some kind of test to determine the readability of the p25 system. Interesting TG number as well 5,4,3,2,1....

Yeah they have been testing the last week. Heard them doing same thing last week.

These were prerecorded automated voices

Well folks, in my never ending quest to confuse you all, this popped up on Site 103 West -CoCo a couple of hrs ago.

I checked FCC db and there is/are NO 851.70625 Licensed in the state of CA, I triple checked my FCC search data and came up with same thing.

Timestamp_____Type___Channel__Frequency_TalkGroup_TalkGroup Desc_________RadioID Radio Desc
3/4/2012 19:48__Group__00-0112__851.70625_6821______T: 103 DT: 3/4/12@19:48__2051908

EDIT-BTW it did show up on the Grant Log, but Not tha AFF Log, anyone else happen to be logging site 103 at same time?

It does show T: 103 under Talkgroup Desc

Double top secret Freq and TG ??????

I was not logging Site 1-3 at the time, but I have been fairly consistently over the past couple of weeks. I have never logged a talkgroup in the 100 range and I have never logged a radio in the 2000000 range. The lowest talkgroup I have after 1 is 1001. The vast majority of radio IDs I have are in the 4300000 or 16700000 ranges. The closest to 2051908 I've logged are 54322 and 3010101.

Maybe bogus info? What was your decode health at the time?

Don't know, wasn't really watching the PC or Scanner, just out of corner of my eye I saw something pop up, unfortunately I had the volume turned down at the time so didn't hear anything.

Site 103 on my GRE600 usually shows 55-75% depending on day-night and weather.

Radio Techs now testing on site 103 COCO West-Richmond FD Tac 3 to P25, saying "as soon as I step behind the factory you can't hear me", "all these antennas here are de-sensing (spelled right?) us", "we need to get another tester? or system?(couldn't hear exactly what he said) other then the MaComm?" "let's get a 7200 out here and test it."

Any of you tech types know if a "MaComm" (spelled the way I heard it) or 7200 is, maybe software radio testing equip?

Here is grant log (completely different then above quote)

Difference between analog and P25, I hear Analog RFD Tac3 fine, P25 completely broken, but maybe that's what the techs are concerned about also.

They continue to test...

Now Simulcasting Richmond PD Chl 2. BUT, on same TG as theye used with RFD Tac 3 (TG 6305) Maybe just to listen overnight to how it works...

Dave

EDIT: P25 Breaking up to much now can't tell if RPD 2 is still simulcasting.
Another TG 7205 is popping up with techs "testing 12345 Etc"

Will stop reported at this time as I don't receive P25 well enough to tell what's going on.

Others within range, please do monitor, stuff is happening

I tried to monitor the Contra Costa West Simulcast today, and it is about as useless as the Oakland P25 system on my BCD396XT. It may be slightly more readable, but I still get garbled audio and intermittent decode of the control channel. Perhaps LSM strikes again...

Martin, that may be but I'm picking on my old BC796 some clear voice, but also some garbled voice, this could be 1 of 2 things.

1. LSM is in use and the clear voice I'm hearing is coming from a higher site and therefore the stronger signal is being received.

2. Bad weather, digital instead of analog, my P25 is at about 15-25% now and EDACS is broken where normally both OAK and RICH EDACS I get very well. The P25 site that has been talking the most is garbled on both my BC and GRE, more of a out of range type sound rather then what OAK P25 sounds like. (at least to me).

I monitored P25 on Pro96com and had EDACS on another 796 with ID search on the EDACS and none of the hits on Pro96com matched with traffic on EDACS, but as I said right now my reception is very poor on both.

This is all I managed to get today - looks like about 5 TGs
