To bring it slightly back to EMP (although the engine issue is interesting, I still think my 67 Beetle ( which I don't have any more) would work a lot better ), I think an EMP simulator would help clear up a lot of the theories that are going around, and help producers build better products.

Thanks
Joel
But I believe tou were the one that said the car would still go 60 MPH. You are wrong.

I understood the concept of bend’n over and kiss’n me derrière goodbye years ago and thought I didn’t need to worry bout it when everybody semi-disarmed at the end of the Cold War…

didn’t come to mind the idiot(s) in charge would go out of their way to urinate in each other’s wheaties again.

You might survive the event, but unlikely you'd survive any sort of collision in a car like that. Old military vehicle might be your better option.

You could be the first pimp of the post apocalyptic world.

Hey, somebody has to be there to fill a high demand service :D

I got my 1973 VW Karmann Ghia up to ~ 120 MPH * on a long straight downhill section of I75 while headed into Sault St Marie. * Speed'o needle pointing straight down.

Nope, not me... Didn't make any claims to speed or anything like it.

Thanks

That would be the point of a test facility... Maybe something like that could be prioritized for funding ahead of mating habits of various animals.

I would bet there would even be a small but enthusiastic desire to have a retrofitable computer/electronic system for certain vehicles (lets say a Ford F-150), that is simplified and extra robust.

Keeping in mind that there was a market for "Anti-Magnetic" watches at one time.
(By the way, anti-magnetic labels or not, a mechanical watch does not do well when close to the magnet of some external magnet magnatrons).

I've been noticing a LOT of SUV's now in my area are sporting (what would have been in the past) survivalist like features like Low profile exteriors (no bright work/chrome-plastic, extra heavy duty cargo boxes with ladders, low visual profile tires, subdued markings etc...) I assume people that go for things like that would be the prime market.

Thanks
Joel
