I get the following error a lot while viewing the forums on the mobile site. I'm using an iPhone 3GS, but it's done it on my old iPhone 3G as well.

Sorry for the sideways pic :)

Yes, I've been getting that same error for a while now, but never bothered to report it. No rhyme or reason as to when it occurs.

I'm using a 3rd gen iPod Touch, 32 GB.

Thanks for posting :)

It randomly occurs on various threads. I'll try to find an example from my threads.

Is it random or does it occur on specific pages?

It occurs on certain threads but then if I view the same thread a day or so later, it goes away.

But there's no rhyme or reason it happens on those certain threads.

Today it happened while viewing the "recent posts" link.

Additionally, it will only show about 1/4 of the actual thread when the box error shows up.

Ok, this is now happening on the Ohio breaking news forum, on the new Sheriff Shot thread. First screenful was fine, but when I hit Next to view the last post an "encoding error" occurred.

Same here. First page loads about halfway withthe error. No way to get to second page.

Why can't you just browse the website without going to the mobile version?

That's not in question. The point is the mobile forums have an intermittent bug.

So, what actually happened to me was:

I was initially able to completely load the first page. No error.
Then I hit next.
Then the second page produced the error.
Then I tried to view the thread from the beginning again. Now the first page loads halfway with the error, with no way to get to the second page.

I'm just saying in the mean time that's an option, I'll try on a non iOS device and see if I get the same error.

We realize there are other options, we are just trying to notify someone of the problem.

It seems this only limited to iPhones.
