You've made two contradictory reports. Which frequency are you actually hearing being simulcast? And are you sure it's really on that .00625 spacing?

It is citywide fdny not the BX. the units from the Bx switched to the cw today. it is the 154-430. and retransmitted on 482-23125

The channels are not spaced at .00625, they are centered at .00625. The system will be analog conventional at 25 kHz. FDNY & EMS operations will not be on the UHF trunked system. System will be 10 simulcast analog TX sites with a constellation of addtional receivers.

Most scanners can't discriminate .00625 spacing. If you type in a frequency within 12.5 kHz of the actual channel center on most scanners, you'll pick it up just fine.

Enter it and the scanner should round it off. There are not too many consumer grade scanners that will know the difference.

Is anyone there actually hearing any of the boro's or citywide on the UHF freqs?

I have someone at FDNY communications denying that they are using any UHF for boro or cw.

It's all well and good that we have freqs but is the acutal move in progress?

Is this new system going to be a trunked system or conventional system?

Unless something changed, that was answered above.

Since the date of cowboys reply, I have heard differently. I heard that it was going to be a trunked system, even for the handie talkies. I don't really see how that is possible but I wanted to get verification about the system being trunked or conventional.

A lot of the specs i've seen were for conventional dispatch channels but I heard someone mention something about a trunked FDNY system, which has me all confused.

There is a lot of false information floating around about FDNY radio. There seem to be several people who are pushing their own wishful thinking and don't really know what they are talking about.

Pay attention to pro92b, SCANdal, and Frank Raffa (can't remember his screen name), and maybe one or two others who are actually in the know. Anyone who contradicts any of them - unless they have genuine credentials - is full of it.

For several hours yesterday I was receiving Manhattan Fire on 482.10625 with a PL of 74.4

I will continue to monitor and report any updates.
