This is my first post. I have a Uniden 396T and several towns & counties have changed there bands down 15mhz. I had downloaded the new firmware bc_vup into the scanner. OK, now what is my next step. very confussed ??

The VUP is only half of the process, you need to get your firmware key by registering your ESN, and then you can get the 3.02 firmware...it should have given you full instructions but heres a link to try..

This would be easy to answer if we had a few more specifics. Exactly what is confusing you? How to program in the DMA world? What towns/counties are you looking to program (which might be a better question in the Florida forum...)? How to apply the rebanding custom table and when it's needed? What apps work with the 396?
In general, it's easier via software to program several towns and counties. That way you can configure everything the way you like it before you actually upload it to the scanner. You have a couple of options; ask in the Florida forum for a file, or get a premium subscription and use an application like FreeScan to download data from our database...
