BCT15X: Firmwear update issue

I have a Uniden BCT15x. I did a firmwear update now the scanner does not show the GRP on the screen and does not pick anything up. Anyone know how to fix that or a way to go back to factory settings?

It won't show it until it is receiving something.

As for not receiving, what is it showing on the screen?

It is showing the trunk system I programed into it but picks up nothing on trunk or conventional it seems to not to be picking up any signal at all

Try the local weather channel and see if you receive that.

Also make sure any Quick Keys are enabled.

It does not pick up the weather channel when programed and the quick keys are set. It was working fine till I did the firmwear update and now nothing. Do you know of a way to removed the firmwear

Don't program the WX - use the hold mode. When holding on a channel type the local WX frequency and hit the HOLD button again. I.E. 162.55 HOLD

no go still not receiving, is there a way to do a factory reset or something to get that firmwear I put on to take it off

no there was nothing just showed it scanning then when I held it on my local it still would not receive

I have tried those suggestions but no luck, on the screen where the ID scan numbers would come up says. NFM no sure what that means and my CD is not much help. Thanks both of you for the help so far.

Couple of things I'd like you to do.
First, can you provide a link to where you downloaded the firmware from?

Would you follow these steps and tell me what version of firmware is shown on the scanner:
Press the MENU button, now turn the Function knob until you see Settings highlighted in black. Press the Function knob once. Now turn the Function knob until you see See Scanner Info highlighted in black. Press the Function knob once and then turn the Function knob to where Firmware Version is highlighted in black, press the function knob again and post what you see in the display window for Firmware version. I don't need all the numbers that start with SN... listed under the Version number, just what is shown under where it says Firmware version.

As far as I know, all BCT15x's sold today have the correct firmware version, 1.03.00, installed in them.

I can't tell you what happens if you try and install the same Firmware version over the existing version if it's the same one and that's what happened, I'm not sure.

Another possibility is maybe you didn't follow the steps exactly as described in the instructions where you downloaded the Firmwear update from?

I did find this small bit of info but pay attention to Post# 6 in the link below.

One thing that you should read is what's in the link there where it says: Follow the troubleshooting tips here... then click on the link that follows those words.

Maybe there is something there that will help you.

Those troubleshooting tips are for another scanner but the person in post # 6 had the same problem with his BCT15X as what you might be experiencing and those tips helped him.

That post/thread has nothing to do with the OP's problem. That thread, the scanner would not even boot up past the blue update screen. This thread, reception has stopped. Re-applying an update (or applying an update) will not cause reception to stop while the scanner continues to appear to operate.

I just bought a BCT15X but my firmware version says 1.03.02 is that newer or older than 1.03.00 ?
