I have one better:

Two weeks ago, I had my scanner turned on and an EMS call came through about a woman throwing up worms, along with worms coming out of her two unmentionable private parts as well. I couldn’t believe what I heard. That’s the craziest scanner call I’ve heard in all of my years of monitoring.

But is that what was actually occurring, or was the woman hallucinating it? Because that sounds like either a mental illness, or a drug overdose situation.

I have no idea, nevertheless, I still have to admit, it was the strangest call I ever heard.

One I heard yesterday on one of the fireground TG's at a big fire. The incident commander took note of a firefighter without his oxygen tanks on....You can put those bottles on or sit in the cab and do nothing.

Someone took their spoiled granddaughter to staples to return a computer for the 3rd time and the staff got a bit rowdy. Didn't think to record and edit out the silence after at first so missed the first minute.

Almost makes me wish I'd recorded some of the conversations at my former employer... Retail customers can get to you lol.

It should be mandatory in order to graduate high school you have to work a customer service job for 6 months prior to graduation.

It's nice to see this thread is still alive after all these years, you used to be able to react to each other which made it a lot more fun.

I posted so many funny things here and appreciated the laughter and support, I was just thinking about something odd that I heard a number years ago right before we went encrypted, a few weeks before we went encrypted for only covid, which is long gone, in my area anyway, 0 cases.

I heard the shots, they were close but not outside my front door mind you. Somewhere down the street. Believe me I know a repeat when I hear it, The call was dispatched on my local police Zone and a police sergeant S- whatever arrived almost instantaneously and canceled EMS, Subject was a Class 5, which in my county is a DOA.

Dispatcher came back and said we've dispatched EMS and they need to make that determination, the sergeant returned with, the subject's head is blown off, cancel EMS until we need them to transport in a few hours or it will probably be the coroner and notify detectives and the ADA.

It turned out the murderer walked towards my house, and I was being situationally aware and BOLO.. word on the street was he was from my area, but nobody from the police followed up that LOL. That one's still unsolved, like all the others.

Just shows to go you, I miss listening.

I got seriously into listening to the police scanner when I noticed police driving slowly along the street shining a search light between houses and into backyards. And I was out in the backyard with the dog at the time. Thanks to Broadcastify I learned they were looking for two suspects on foot, one of which was armed with a silver handgun. Later on I found out that the two were wanted for entering a home (home invasion) several houses away.

I miss in 2011 when those Sennheiser (and various clones) 900 MHz headphones were all the rage. For a few years after up until like 2014 or so I would hear quite a few of them on occasion while walking all over town with the handheld and it could be quite humorous, like one time I heard pr0n coming off one of the apartments by the bike trail. The headphone units themselves weren't too sensitive and only good out to a few hundred feet but with a decent scanner and ole RS800 antenna it's amazing how far you could pick them up, I eventually got myself a set back in 2013 and used the base to feed scanner audio throughout the house a lot of the time. Mine actually used a little wire inside for the antenna so I was able to solder a short coax lead to it and connect it to a little 33cm antenna I made out of some welding rod and a SO-239. Got out about half a mile.

It's kinda weird, because I swear sometimes the option to react still shows up randomly.
Nice that you still have the ability to give someone a thumbs-up for encouragement or a positive reaction. One user who abuses it himself managed to get it removed from me after one interaction.

Oh that was me right? I kept reacting to idiotic takes on closed threads and I lost the ability :ROFLMAO: I still regularly get notifications from people reacting to my posts.

No, it was not you. I do miss it though, as there are a lot of good people here with good ideas and posts that I'd like to react to.
