Galveston county sheriff units question

Does anyone EVER hear DPS units communicating with the GCSO or GPD dispatcher? I almost never do. Also, I've heard some GC units recently identifying as xxRxx and xxWxx units, although I don't hear them often. Does Anyone have any idea who they are?

I have heard DPS on Galveston PD channel 2 units 2Cxx and 2Dxxx on occasion when they are making traffic stops on the island but not on GCSO channels 1, 2

I wonder why they're not talking to GCSO. I rarely hear them. They must be doing more than we're hearing on Galveston channels unless they're talking directly to the Houston DPs dispatcher.

If DPS is working in rural areas they communicate with Houston DPS. However inside a city they may contact that cities dispatch for warrants information or to request a wrecker .
Just last week I heard DPS talking to the Texas city PD dispatcher on Texas city PD channel one requesting a wrecker. As you may be aware Texas city PD moved there dispatch ops to Texas city PD channel two and now use encryption ! However Texas city PD channel one is used for outside agencies to talk directly to the dispatcher.
I don't know why they don't talk much on GCSO channels it is possible they could conduct operations with them on one of the GCSO events channels events A, B, C, D, Or E. I do hear DPS on these channels occasionally

However when outside agencies need warrants information or any other information from GPD they will contact GPD using GPD channel two, I've heard DPS , Texas parks and wildlife , UTMB , and others on this channel.

Yea, I heard a DPS unit talking to TX City PD the other day, but I have to say there's much less coordination between DPS and GC agencies that there used to be when the old intercity system was in use, and there really needs to be more coordination. If you listen to the DPS Weslaco system, the agencies in the area, city PD's, Border Patrol, local SO's, even fire departments can all communicate (and do frequently) with each other on DPS Weslaco regional. They should use this same system all over Texas, especially in rural areas. It works very well

Tonight I heard DPS on GCSO channel 2 The trooper was asking GCSO dispatcher about an address they had a call for that was transferred to DPS
