Rolf, You did not miss much, traffic on Fire was far better than Tac 1.
Per SLC Fire, evac perimeter has been downsized to 100 feet in all directions.

Now that sounds like a great idea. I had one scanner on SLC Fire 2, one scanning VECC Disp and SLC Fire 3 and a third scanning all the PD stuff (SLC Tac 1, U of U and UTA).
Kudos to SLC for a "taking the reigns" and exicuting a well organized operation.

I was in the middle of it all!
I had a 4:00 pm appointment with one of the clinics at the VA this afternoon with lab tests scheduled to be drawn at 3:00 pm. IT DIDN'T HAPPEN. Was met at the gate to the VA campus by one very disgruntled, less than friendly, wasn't hearing any excuses or stories, VA cop (Yes, he would be Federal). Got turned around at about 10 minutes to 3 pm and was over an hour trying to make it out of the area in the traffic.
The interesting thing was that all of the sidewalks in the area were jam packed with pedestrians and the old school marm with kiddies in tow kinda lines. There were also about a dozen women pushing wheeled baby cribs down the sidewalks headed for East High, I think.
Interesting day, but sure didn't do me any good. The clinic I needed to see only operates on Tuesdays, and so I may end up in their emergency room sometime between now and the next clinic scheduled.
