Gloucester / York, VA - P25

This morning the Gloucester P25 ( 853.8875c ) was down for a few hrs and when it came back online I noticed the sys id network and site changed to the following in DSD+:

Network: BEE00.647
Site: 1.4 NAC=644 BSI=WQMI646
Channel 0-27: 851.175 BSI
Channel 0-97: 851.6125 VOICE DATA
Channel 0-245: 852.5375 SCC VOICE DATA
Channel 0-335: 853.1 SCC VOICE DATA
Channel 0-389: 853.4375 CC SCC
Channel 0-461: 853.8875 CC SCC VOICE

can anyone else verify.

I believe York county changed to Network: BEE00.647 a while back, and just wondering if Gloucester is now being moved too.
It kind of makes since because the old Network Sysid: 509 WACN: BEE00 had Williamsburg/James/York and Gloucester all on 2 sites.

Its eventually going to be integrated into the Suffolk system.

It’s being integrated into Suffolk / Isle of Wight. Suffolk will have the main core and back up core. York, James City (509) etc. system will become redundant and used as a back up in the event of a complete loss of 647.
This has been in the works for quite sometime now. Almost two years ago, they were updating everything in Suffolk and Isle of Wights communication centers in order to facilitate the changeover.

I may go sit on the beach at Yorktown and set my 325P2 to scan cc only and see what talk groups I get to popup. I know the Sheriff is encrypted, but the changes made yesterday to the RRDB only reflect a single talkgroup active for the entire county on Isle of Wight/Suffolk system. A significant drop and NO sheriff TG's listed. Which will of course be difficult to determine.
Really kind of a strange change to have such a distance and no contiguous border.

At least the control channels remained the same.

Its not that far as the crow flies. It’s just across the James River.
It’s not strange at all if you’re familiar with Terry Hall. Given that Suffolk’s cores are brand new, and York’s are much older. Terry originally had his sights set on one regional location with ALL agencies being dispatched out of York. Suffolk said “Not gonna happen”!! Which kind of deflated Terry’s already OVER inflated ego. He has a God complex and thinks he’s smarter than he actually is.
He’s tried to get Newport News and Hampton on board with “his” regional interoperability system as well as New Kent. New Kent told him to go kick rocks when he quoted them $14 million to piggy back. They went their own route for less than half of that.
What a lot of people don’t know is, Terry use to be a Motorola vendor back in the day. He’s still associated with Motorola. However, his association is with a Motorola location outside of Virginia. Which means, the more systems he facilitates the sale of, the more commission he gets. Of course he will deny any of this when asked about it. His son works for Motorola out of their York County location. It’s a tangled web that he’s woven.

Getting 4010, encrypted. Has got be SO. Looks like the Radio IDs have changed to 542xxxx

I did too, sat on a bench on the water at Yorktown for about 30 minutes (until the shade moved on).
I got traffic on
4001 Fire
4010 ENC but busy most likely the Sheriff
4011, 4014, and 4016, also had traffic but ENC and much shorter transmissions than 4010.

Getting 4020 and 4034 encrypted, if these are SO thats alot of channels for them. Did anyone ever find public works or anything like that on the 509 system?

Was scanning for new id's this afternoon, Someone came on and told Gloucester fire dispatch they would be testing on TAC 1. Sure enough, a little later I heard them talking about the clarity of the channel. This was on TGID 4002. I assume they followed on up with the TAC channels but haven't verified this.At least I know I have dispatch (4001) and TAC 1 (4002) correct. Many other hits as well but all encoded.

Sorry if this is a stupid question. But does anyone know if the rest of the Gloucester talk groups (TAC1, TAC2, ETC.) be loaded into the Uniden Sentinel database on the next weekly update? As of right now I just see dispatch listed under Gloucester Fire/Rescue.

I have verified TAC 1 and TAC 3. I submitted a ticket to add TAC1 and I believe it is there and will be seen in the next uniden download but not the others. I hope to get a few more verified then submit a ticket to include them all at one time.

Thank you. I went ahead and just added them manually via sentinel late last night but I haven’t actually heard them be used yet.

I missed all the action with the storms yesterday because I didn’t realize they had changed from the JC/YC/WB system.

a trailing lowercase "e" represents partial encryption.
a trailing uppercase "E" represents FULL encryption. under the Mode column in the database.
