Looks like the SD card is accessed when the remote head is removed.
That head sure looks a heckuva lot thinner and lighter than the Uniden head, which will help with ProClip mounts and such.
With regards to the remote head,is there also a speaker in it to,I have not much to do with them except for seeing the Uniden 996"s unit.

I think it would have been better to have SD card slot on the remote head.
If the software is the same as the 800, you could possible use the microSD card with an adapter in the 900 without redoing anything.
They should have used a knob for the volume. Might be easier to adjust while driving.
