System goes down again and not one peeps out of you guys LOL. Went down for about 1hr
That's patently false.multiple agencies and they all went down, i was told by a motorola tech that the UPS system took a dump at schaaf rd
Are you a lower tier user like sanitation or sewers? heh heh hehIf you say so LOL. Whatever but I can show you a pics of my radios with out of range on the displays. And I'll guarantee the system went down! That's a fact
Curious how you guys have your favorites list set up for Cuyahoga County. Currently I have city of Cleveland in one favorites list, other Cuyahoga fire in a second and then law-enforcement in a third list. Thinking about dividing the fire and police into east and west as well. The latter two favorites have both Cleveland towers and Marcs.
I’ve had an SDS100 for several years. Just received a new SDS200. Can’t wait to play around this weekend.
I've been hearing them for a week or so and believe it's the Cleveland APLTG 56121 seems to be kennel related traffic such as cleaning and appointments for animals? It follows just after animal control. Any else have a thought?
Not trying to hijack the post I know this message is over two years old lol but I have friends that work with CWRUPD, some have in car radios (roadbosses) while patrol officers have their portables you’ll mainly hear their callouts (directives) at night parking lot checks building checks etc. hope that helps sorry I’m late to the party hahaIs it conceivable that Case only has portable radios? You'll hear an entire shift and the officers are clearly mobile and in buildings, but only on one Radio ID the entire day.
Thanks for the tips! I always worry about reliability when I buy used. Guess I’m just paranoid. Lol.Don’t spend more than $500, there’s plenty of quality preowned units that pop up all the time on social media. I blew $800 on my first new one with horrific programming and regret it, because at the time there weren’t many programming videos and I was intimidated by the lack of knowledge available online. Next unit I found for $500 and another for $400, they’re all quality.
I struggle to hear GCRCN with an SDS100 without perfect atmospheric conditions and antenna placement. The Unication G5 picks this system up with stock antenna 5x5.
As far as programming that’s up to you, this is a medium sized but very busy system. I’m successful scanning most of what I’m interested in within one single knob. I use multiple zones for various channel isolation, and the G4 should serve your listening very nicely. It’s a great radio but terrible scanner. Working in harmony with your Uniden’s I think you will be very pleased with this system on the G4.
Lorain, Medina, for sure. Thanks for the tips! I always worry about reliability when I buy used. Guess I’m just paranoid. Lol.
I’m in old Brooklyn and get GCRCN very well. I can even lock onto Summit & Lake county MARCS to get a lot of other agencies. This is with the SDS 100. I’ve read up on the G4 and have watched a lot of videos. Thinking I might even be able to pick up farther out.
